Title: Showers and washing hair between clients.
Post by: ladyofthemansion on 11 April 2016, 12:23:53 am
A trick I've found with the showering in between clients. Let hair get wet but just use conditioner and no shampoo. Then quick dry and straight. Works a treat and it's fast x

I really would never wash my hair in between a booking.  Surely there is absolutely no need?

A shower I can understand.  I always freshen up.  But a hair wash is over the top in my view ....

Wash my hair in the morning, and use dry shampoo if i need too for the rest of the day.  Always use a shower cap when showering between clients.

It takes me several hours to dry my hair so I can wash it only every 2, 3 days: there are always nice smelling products I can apply for the scalp on a daily basis (also helping with hair resistance) or other stuff.  Never applied dry shampoo either and could never wash my hair every several hours!!!

I wash my hair in the morning before I start work but in between clients I just put it in a bun while I shower so it doesn't get wet

Ok I guess for very short hair but not if you have long thick hair.

My hair gets quite messy during services and for me the only way is to wet it and start from scratch but found not using shampoo and just conditioner does the trick.

There was something in the news about dry shampoo being bad for you.

I have no need to wash my hair after sex. I don't use heated appliances, don't use loads of products, at the moment my scalp doesn't get oily (I have a very clean diet), and only needs washing a couple of times per week.

Most cosmetic products are & it's highly flammable too. A hairdresser told me to use talcum powder instead.

I don't generally need to wash my hair after a booking either, but mine is long and thick and on a hot day I wish I could it gets claggy and horrible fast, especially when punters keep touching it. Dry shampoo doesn't work because brushing makes it frizz, and it's too dark to use talc without looking like I have a badger stripe.

I've learnt to wash odd bits of it under the tap if it's got something in it :-X but I mostly wind up just having to tie it out of the way, although I did try Febrezing it last week after it got smelling of some rank aftershave just to stop the smell wafting in my face on the way round Tesco :).

I have to wash mine every morning as it gets greasy so I have to use dry shampoo in between jobs, I fucking hate it when they touch my hair! I feel like punching anyone that does so, you can get a dark coloured dry shampoo if you are a brunette. Febreze! Interesting x

One good thing about wearing wigs is that they're less likely to want to touch it. I do tell them that it's a wig and make a little joke about it being full of pins. Very few have done much touching since. I don't mind a hand pushing on the back of my head but I absolutely HATED when they'd rub their hands around and around on the sides of my head. That is a thing of the past now!

I always tell clients not to touch my hair if they try to, I HATE having my hair touched, even by a boyfriend

How does not using shampoo make a difference to the time it takes too dry your hair?

There was something in the news about dry shampoo being bad for you.

They said that it can cause hair loss but lots of things cause hair loss and there is no scientific proof this product is to blame, to my knowledge so far. I read something about Pantene causing issues if you went to the hairdressers and had bleach applied but again not read any proof.

Anyway back to the topic, I wash my hair before my first booking and inbetween the second, just spray something nice and smelly to disguise the smoke smell that clings to hair. I don't tend to dry may hair after a shower so some clients have guessed that this means they are the first booking. If that's the case then just wet and spray it so they think they are the first.

I have long thick hair and find talc builds up on my scalp and feels itchy after a few hours... And even though I'm blonde it the quite white looking.
I use dry shampoo in between on my roots and a revitalising mist on my ends otherwise my hair is a frizzy mess!

I'm paranoid and prevent clients from going near my hair. It takes me ages to sort and manage. It has a mind of its own to be honest. I do wash my hair daily though. After I finish a shift, the first thing I do is 'shower'.

I only ever wash my hair in between clients if they spunk in it (I offer facials). Even then I am sometimes able to get away with just washing the spunky bit and drying it. Thankfully my hair tends to behave itself until the afternoon when I finish, as long as it's freshly washed and blow dried in the morning.

Afternoon ladies.

Think I’ve most of my grab bag sorted but the one thing I’m lacking is something for my hair if it’s been an energetic session. Anyone else use dry shampoo for this or is there a trick I’m missing here?

Edit thank you for merging.

Dry shampoo is handy but for mature hair most people find it too thinning.  I only use occasionally when desperate and in a rush.  Not needed as a rule.

I wish I had thick hair but mine is fine and even without a sweaty session, It needs washing daily. But I also have well oiled skin that glows. And i personally hate my hair or face being touched lol But i do use dry shampoo lightly.
