Offended time waster
« on: 04 August 2014, 02:51:01 pm »
I just got a really rude email from one of my time waters.
Lovely. It did make me cry. Great.
I blocked him everywhere but forgot he actually had my work email.
It was about me not respecting the fact he has such a busy schedule.
Just screw it.

Do you mean he has difficulty commiting to an appointment because of his busy schedule?

Well, we were in touch for almost 2 weeks. He wanted to organise overnight booking and he has his own clinic (looks like he really does) so I was nice and patient.
Then he kind of made a joke that was offensive. I ended up blocking him. And in the end I got a nasty email this morning.

Yeah, some people aren't very good at booking appointments, I suspect it's a mixture of unreliability, nerves and guilt. Running a business you can try your best to be patient, but if after a reasonable time and having supplied the information required to make a booking, someone still can't commit then you need to move on to those who can make a definite appointment.

I think I gave him enough time. I know I'm still learning to deal with time wasters but tbh some are just too much. He was one of those who'd actually like to chat every bloody day. If he has the time to chat he can make the time to book.

Well said! Love your succinct posts LL. I'm going to try and model my response style on yours and try my best not to waffle. Don't think I'm going to find it easy though!

So OP, the gist is that he gets to make you cry because he imagines that he's busier and more important than you.....He's a twat.

Your not dumb crying at all. If they get to me I don't usually cry but I do get depressed and that's probably more damaging. I think that it's outrageous how some people can so casually suck the joy out of someone else's life.

Don't let them put a dent in you day - that's what I say!

A guy who sent me ?150 for "wasting my time" because I didn't do CIM sent me an awful one as I didn't thank him profusely (I wrote something along the lines of "I really hope you find the regular girl you're looking for yadayadayada) but was away with a client and had a limited time each day to answer the ungodly number of - mostly stupid - emails I receive, as well as contacting friends and family. It was so vitriolic I cried, partly because I felt guilty! When you put so much effort into being courteous and efficient, it's really quite cutting to be accused of being the opposite.

In the words of Frozen, you just have to "let it gooooo!"

That's a really cute song!
I understand that when they request longer bookings they may want to chat a bit to make sure we connect. And yes, I do appreciate it when I can see they did read my profile and ask me questions relevant to what my profile says about me etc.
But when the guy starts texting etc at 5am that's annoying. Obviously I won't text back 5am but I just find it crazy. And I'm always nice to those guys so wtf.

NEVER allow a guy to make you feel like that.  None of them are worth it.  You ARE worthy.  We don't all work in the same way but the way we work must suit us or we would change it ... Well the sensible ones would.

It's easier to say I CAN do something than it is to say I CANNOT, so you know what to say the next time it happens ... Say, I CAN and I WILL and f*** em!
