Hi all
Just a bit of a light hearted posting -
Watched as much as I could today of the Billie Piper prog on catchup and I loved it!!!!
For obvious reasons being a single parent I am unable to watch it when it is on but it is on itv.com/catchup and from what I saw I have to confess I did enjoy, particularly the quip she makes about the fact that she will eat anything.
Am avidly going to watch them all!!!
I think it is almost exciting to hear her make references to gfe - it's like this underworld we work in - well it can be glossy can't it !!!

Ive not seen the TV series but i love both the books :)
I know some people might disagree and think they glamorise prostitution but i think they are really witty and well written (if offering a slightly glossed over version of life as a working girl)
but hey i don't live in London so what would i know,maybye agency girls there do earn 300 quid an hours as compared to my more modest 130!
If so I'm on the first train down there!!
Yep i know what you mean Alex about it sometimes being the best job in the world,when I'm having a good week and earning more in seven days than i did in a month at my previous civvy job i cant help think Ive made a brilliant life choice despite what the judgemental populace might think.

Yeah i watched it, and read both the books too, I really enjoy them! Nice light hearted stuff thats funny and a laugh, but about something that many of us who cant discuss our work in "real life". It's great to relate to something like that. I watched a programme that was on after the first series was aired about the the real life of call girls. That was quite insightful too. Though many of the women interviewed on it were doubtful thatSecret Diary is actaully written by an escort at all.

I hadn't ever seen it untill a few days ago, i dont have a proper tv so i watched it on catch up too. I can see how women would wnat to start escorting thinking its all glam and prada handbags (actually, i do want a designer handbag so i wont knock that side of it!!!).
What time does it go out on Telly though because i was suprised at the episode with the new and naive girl bambi. i thought she was going to get beaten up or something much worse than what we actually saw and wondered if its because it goes out kind of early. then i remembered it must go out after 9pm or they wouldnt have had an old granny saying "we've all had our share of cock dear"!!!
I will be watching it every week now. how did i miss the first series???? i had a tv then??
And, i have known women in the past who said they were night time legal secretaries. i wonder if they really were now!!! If i move back to london next year guess what im going to be!!!!

I don't have a TV of my own so will have to watch this new series on catch up sometime, I did watch the last series it was ok, but it's Belle's story and although there are probably familiar bits to each of us I can't help but think each of our stories would be different to hers in places!
One difference in my case I have some Prada bags that were given to me before I became an escort and have never had a new Prada handbag at all after becoming one! :o Lol

I must be a grumpy moo ? the TV series is ok but I could not stand the books ? simply crap and seem so far from what most escort do and are into. To me the books seem to scream fake! No wonder they had to draft in some people to rewrite and research for the actual TV program as the book certainly seemed unrealistic.
Anyway, had a nice day of shopping for labels at my local Lidl - oh the high life....

Yes, apparently Secret Diary was actually written by a male journalist. Although he must've got help or done research somewhere, as it seems to have quite a few things that escorts can relate to.
I'm afraid I'm one of those escorts that have neither read the books or seen the shows. I reckon I live it enough, why would I want to sit and watch/read it. 'Though I did like the documentary that followed. I recognised a couple of ladies and I thought we were well represented.

That would explain a lot. One thing did make me wonder in the book, is the condom thing...Belle apparantly buys her condoms at the chemist. I dont even work full time and I get through enough rubber to rival Michelin Tyres lol. I just dont get mine from a shop I bulk order online which I'm presuming a lot of you ladies do to?!
Yeah the docu was interesting - I watched it before I was escorting then a cpl of months back it was repeated so I had a new perspective on it.

I think the documentry you are talking about is still on ITV catch up aswell. I watched that the other night when i was starting to have thoughts such as "what the F*** do i think im doing" (which im sure is a natural thought process). It didnt help.... i was still thinking "what the F*** am i doing" at the end of it but it was interesting.... as long as i dont have to sing to clients or pay ?1500 to a photograrher every 3months!!! lol

Belle's fetish clients seem a bit too textbook for my tastes, and believe me, I have a lot of books listing the profiles for various tastes! Maybe I just attract very unusual ones! She is pretty rude to her clients, and very unprofessional with her agent; the series presents he walking out on a client for no good reason, which will and dare I say should, get you fired from any agency worth its salts. The blog refers to clients leaving her bruised, much to her masochistic satisfaction. Even a professional submissive would not allow this, if for no other reason than it would put off future clients. Also, the blog is completely humourless, and I find my experiences with clients often leave me laughing!

I've recently watched the whole first series and the new episodes and I personally think its fantastic, and you never know the program may educate people in understanding escorting a little better and make people less likely to look down on escorting.

Well, I have only watched the first 15 minutes for the new episode and it did make me chuckle - I just found it funny to see references to gfe on a tv (fictional?) programme.
I have yet to see more to see what I really think but I think I will view it more from a light hearted view as opposed to seeing how accurate it really is, but like I said I have yet to watch more.
In any case, I did find it amusing and intend to watch the rest, on catchup!

i think it is good that it is portrayed in a more positive light and if you think about the negative perception most have on escorting and the stigma that is still attached to it, i think it is good that there is more positive out there.

another aspect is that in Buddhist you here about maya and the illusion and i think all our social construct and rules (stigma taboos) are the illusion and we need to free us and be true to our hearts and inner calling.
one more thing, i come to release a person who is sexually liberated, she is truly free, as long as we follow the rules and expectations and are not true to ourselves we are controlled by men
