This feels kinda silly, but I just want to recap. I know alot of my topics come off as edgy, but I really dont treat clients as badly as it may seem. Just a few months ago there was a topic called
no more mr. nice guy where I was recommended to be harder on potential clients/callers rather than a doormat.
And so yes, since then I am alot brusque than I was. However, I do not pick up the phone yelling down at every customer or time-waster who calls. Its not like that. But at the same time, how many times can one just sit back and take it? Eventually saying a flippant remark back wont do any harm. And Im sure all of us are guilty of doing so at one point or another.
I like my job. Really. I like the people I meet and value them and their time. More often than not people tell me I'm "too nice" rather than "nasty/rude". Thats just not me. What makes it look so bad is that when Im rude,
Im rude and people are like, "how dare you say that!" And sometimes, I only
think about saying what I want and dont actually do so. In the end, they dont know me, I dont know them...there's only so much battling that can go on. They probably do it to everyone. So its not a reason for me to take it personal. But then again, Im not 'everyone' and sometimes I do take it personal and by all means Im going to speak up!
So you see? Im not so bad afterall!
