Decorating an incall room...
« on: 31 July 2011, 11:35:01 am »
So, I am moving house soon, and even better, I can work from the new one! *celebration dance*

Anyhow, I am thinking about how to present the actual room I will be using for clients. I suppose it is rather trivial, but my usual style is kind of shabby chic/Cath Kidston/homemade cushions etc. Or as my partner calls it, old lady flowers! I am guessing this is not really what clients expect or like...

Basically, do you let the room have some of your own style? Should it be all modern and whatnot?

Hardly an ultimately important decision I know, but you know, curtains are fun :P

The room I work from is very hotel chic, white bedding with a splash of colour, matching curtains and white Ikea furniture ie wardrobes for costumes, bed side tables for condoms, lube, toys and dressing table to pretty myself up between clients lol.

I personally go for a more lived in look at home, but I think clients like being able to see the room is clean and we don't have anywhere to stash a hidden camera lol!

I have to say I am so jealous! I am confident I would never want to do incalls now but the bit I'd really love to be able to do is decorate a room for it! I'd be in my element!  ;D And thats not just because my house is a taken over so much by my other business we sleep on the floor... its been a long long time since my house was pretty!! lol   ::)

Thank you for the advice! I shall try and restrain my floral tendencies!

I wish it was not just rented :( That would be more fun. But nonetheless, I am looking forward to it. Thankfully the house is big enough that the work room is separate from our bedroom which makes me less uneasy about it.

I want to start incalls asap when we are moved in, so that is my excuse for beginning curtain making now... I am looking at Clarke and Clarke fabrics and attempting to resist their pretty temptations...

My style is quite like that, but no florals, maybe a touch in cushions but I prefer block colours, white bedding.

Why don't you ask your partner what he would find 'sexy'? It is for the males I suppose!

Yes, I'd say go for this look.  Modern and clean.  And don't forget a huge, full length mirror - they love it  ;)

+1
I have one to the left of the bed and another in place of where the head board used to be, so every viewing angle is covered. They all seem to get off on the extra view.

The mirror is a great idea ;) I have gone for a sort of discretely floral fabric, just to warm the room up as it is blue and white (not the sexiest colour scheme ever!) and a very modern bed which I am attempting to get used to! I will definitely go with plain white sheets and then the mirror. Thank you very much ladies!

I redecorated my room and guess exactly how many clients have noticed?  about 3.  It's been 10 months.  And it is completely different, from bright to white.  Men just don't seem to notice, too busy looking at us  ;D  The funniest comment  got was 'Wasn't it always like this?'  That is from a regular who I've seen every couple of weeks for about three years .

I say go for what you like, after all you are the one that will be using it the most, clients will only be there for an hour or two and then they'll be gone (with a big smile on their face).   But you will have to look at it all the time.  As long as it's clean and you have everything you need close at hand, almost anything goes.
