running into clients?!
« on: 10 August 2011, 12:30:03 am »
Has anyone else every run into a client in real life?!

Today I ran into a client when I was out for lunch with a friend, and a client that I saw on one occasion about a month or 2 ago was sitting with 2 colleagues at the very next table, literally directly across from me!

Normally I wouldn't care - it's happened before once - but unfortunately on this occasion I was wearing my old, ugly gym kit, wet, scraped back hair, no make up and had about 4 spots on my face   :-[  :-[  :-[  Seriously I nearly died!

when I saw the guy I thought, great he's really close to me, easy peasy and no taxi fees!  NO NO NO.  Bad idea.  Never expected to run into him in this venue though, which is fun but not terribly upmarket....

anyone else got any similar stories??!

I cross paths with many clients all the time, both in other business lives and personal lives, usually its when I'm not looking my best  ;D and a couple of times I have been told I look very much like my sister who they saw in Tescos. Thankfully, discretion here seems to work well, and I have had no problems or embarrassing encounters.

ha ha, yes this reminds me of 3 scenarios...one i was with my son, when this guy leans out of his van and yells: hey karen are you available? i would love to see you again! ....and i was like 'would u shut the f*** up!? i walked up to the van and gave him an earful about discretion, and that i was with my son, blah blah....i was really angry....another time, i met an extremely drunk guy in camden who said 'i'm sure i've fucked you before', but then it was dark and crowded and nobody noticed....and another time i saw somebody in the train station, and i stared and stared (again i was with my son) and i was thinking, where do i remember him from? i couldnt remember, and he didnt see me, and i was thinking about going up and saying: where do i know you from? when i remembered, he was a client....few months later, he booked me and i told him about seeing him at station, and he HAD seen me too, but did a great job of pretending he hadnt....so bit of a mix

I've had a mix of clients saying they had previously seen me out shopping.
Some of them appreciated my professional discretion by not acknowledging them, as they were with family.
HA!  Like I'd remember what they looked like, ten minutes after they walk out my door.    ;D

Some people phoning for an appointment, say they had seen me outside and recognised me from ad photos.
I also had an existing client {ringing up for another appointment} saying I'd been into his branch of carphonewarehouse
the previous Friday (I had).  He asked for a half price session! So  I asked for a half priced iphone  ;D
Needless to say no booking.
I've only been approached once by an existing client while off-duty. That was in a club. I didn't recognise him though.

The thing is that I dress totally different when not working: Little / no makeup, old jeans, vest, tatty sneakers.
(A right lezza,to quote my man-What did he expect, dating a predominately gay woman!)
And all these people say how hot I look. I suspect we are missing a trick here.
Maybe guys don't want glam, but would prefer the 'I couldn't be bothered to make any effort at all' look'.

Still getting ready puts me in a professional state of mind and I also find it empowering.

another time, i met an extremely drunk guy in camden who said 'i'm sure i've fucked you before', but then it was dark and crowded and nobody noticed

This reminded me of something that happened to me last week...though nothing to do with escorting.
A few years ago I was going to work for a guy who owns a company called Karma Kars. He was a lovely guy, right old hippy the way he dressed and his house full of Om posters and wind chimes all over the garden.
Anyway in the end I declined his offer of work as it was very part time and I needed full time.

Last week I bumped into him in the street and said hi...he looked puzzled so I said, "Don't you remember me?"
He said, "Yes of course I do" then added, "Have we slept together?" I laughed and said no...then he said..."OK I don't remember you then!

lmao

I love how he was saying he remembered me just not to upset me if he'd slept with me, bless him:-)

I saw two clients in one day once -- it was the first time I'd ever seen a client out in real life, so to see two within an hour of each other was like some oddity was getting me back for something.

I was out with a friend (she knows what I do), and we were waiting to go into the doctor's so she could get her injection, and he walked past while giving me this look as if to say 'Woah, you're a real human who doesn't sit around all day waiting for men to stick them.) Luckily I never leave the house without a full face of makeup and my hair done. However, I was sitting on a wall, smoking ,and acting like a typical 18 year old with a baggy jumper on, old jeans and dirty trainers. Bit different to the high-class escort routine I have going for me.

Then almost an hour later we were walking through town, windowshopping, and anther client walked past me. He gave me this awkward half-smile and averted his eyes quickly.

I probably wouldn't have remembered them, but one I'd seen the day before and one I'd seen twice within a month. Never saw either again.

xx

I bumped into a client at a nightclub, and he came bounding up to me and gave me a big cuddle. I wouldn't have minded, but I was with my boyfriend at the time  ::)

I don't work within a 10 mile radius of where I live ( and I have never told a Client where I am REALLY from ;) )

so the chances are slim but, as it usually takes 5 or more bookings with the same guy for me to remember his face, I would be blissfully ignorant anyway!

Ps; It's not just escorting-I am like this with everybody!  ;D

Recently had to put a guy on ignore because he REALLY wanted to book me but he lives literally up the road from where I live in Real Life! I told him that he would have to book a hotel as the chances of me running into a family member or friend as I called at his place was too high (I advertise "from" Victoria, but I told him I was born and lived in HIS area most of my life). He was a bit miffed and said it was unlikely - which yeah, it is, but as he was just round the corner from a VERY close family member, I just couldn't risk it! Still, no loss, he was the guy who wanted to book 4 hours and wasn't happy when I said I'd need rest breaks and refreshments!!

I've had a few local guys find me on adultwork, and message me. The worst thing is, they recognised me from school, and I had to tell alot of lies to make them think I was using someone else's pictures  :-X I guess it's always a risk!

Once or twice I've bumped into people either in the supermarket or in a coffee shop. Pretty awkward.
Once I was in a local coffee shop and I bumped into a guy who was with his wife, awkward. We barely maintained eye contact.

On the other hand once an older gentlemen was delighted to see me once when I was in the supermarket. He came up to me and asked me how I was and if I had been busy etc etc. I made polite small talk before insisting that I had to leave.
