OMG!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO........
« on: 25 June 2010, 02:30:45 pm »
Hello everybody,

Well can you believe it? I've only gone and got the chicks  (chicken pox). I'm nearly 28 years of age, bloody itchy ugly looking blistered spots, i feel disgusting, i cant bloody believe it. The doc says there nothing i can do but itch lol...Ive bought calomile lotion and an anti itch cream specially for the chicks. I'm not a happy bunny, so now no work for around 2 weeks. No human contact (sobs) apart from my partner who has been looking at me like I'm a monster. Its too late for him though as he has been around me all the time and apparently it takes 7 days for it to incubate. So if he hasn't had it god help him. I did ask him but he doesn't know.

Can anything else possibly go wrong for me? (frantically touching wood).

So now i am assigned to household duties for 2 weeks, i will be glad not to go out looking like this anyway.

Love N' Hugz.

chicks riddled.

Mak.

I really feel for you. I had them at 26 when I was pregnant. Take lots of cold baths as it really helps the itching, Much more than calomine lotion. Also antihistamines help a little. It sounds a bit silly but wear cotton gloves to bed as you will scratch whilst sleeping and thats when you end up with scars.

Egyptian cotton sheets (washed in just water, no detergent) and pure cotton clothes and pj's is also better for non irritation.

Sending hugs and non itchy vibes

I'm surprised he doesn't remember - the itching is not very forgettable and it's one bit of childhood few who had it then forget.

If this is day one, anti-viral drugs can reduce the severity. Otherwise, it's bicarb of soda in those cool baths.

Oh you poor thing! Yes definately do the cool baths thing.
I cant understand the "no human contact" part as most people have had them already.
I really hope you feel better soon, what a pain in the bum!

Awww, well chicken pox as adult is far worse than when I got it as a kid...

Now that....was disgusting. And the scabs that follow are even worse.

Hello Everybody,

A big thank u to all for all hugz and advise sent. Well, here's an update, Ive had 2 cold baths today (as cold as i could hack it) and that has relieved the itching a bit, i also stood at the top of my horses field tonight trying to fix a bloody fence and it was quite chilly so it felt quite soothing i didn't itch for ages. Ive just now creamed my skin in anti itching cream and I'm starting to itch now. So am writing this to try and take my mind of the chicks!!!!

Lol...Thank u Joey for making me feel 100% better  :-\

I can say something good has come out of this though, because i had a sore throat 2 days before i haven't smoked a ciggy for nearly 4 days now, it was about time i gave up anyway i was smoking 20 a day if not more.

On another note, i got bit by another stinging nettle again and that is now also itching.

Love N' Hugz.

Hello Everybody,

Well today I'm not feeling good at all, my partner had a day planned to see his family (i was supposed to go) but now i cant as don't want to infect everyone, instead of him rearranging to go another weekend, hes left me at home on my own, i probably sound really selfish but i really feel ill and down and didn't really want to be by myself. Now i cant stop crying, i feel like he doesn't care, when he is ill i go out of my way to do things for him, i make sure he is comfortable as possible, go out and get medicine whenever he needs it. When i first got ill with this i cried for nearly 2 hours, he just moaned and shouted at me for crying about it. We have been together for nearly 10 years and I'm really starting to wonder if we have come to the end of the road, maybe i just feel like this because i am ill, its just i have supported him through everything and now i feel totally alone.

I know it is totally off the subject of what i posted originally but I'm going to write on here everything i do and everything he does and maybe someone can tell me if i am right by thinking our relationship is totally 1 sided.

Right here goes: I do -
1. Shopping,
2. Put petrol in car everyday,
3. Wash all clothes,
4. Clean house,
5. Make his packed lunch for community service (at 7am on a frigging sunday),
6. Iron clothes when need ironing,

He does:
1. Cooking,
2. Put petrol in car about once a month,
3. Moans at me when i ask to borrow money,

I cant think of anything else that he does. When i have just properly looked at it while it is written i can honestly say I'm being taken the piss out of.

Any advise please on what i should do.

Love N' Hugz.

I always know when a relationship is over, it is when the person is seriously ill and all I want them to do is hurry up and either die (preferably quietly in a corner, and not make a mess), or get better quickly so I can turf them out. It sounds like you know the answer to your question already.

Hang in there lovebugs. xx

To be really honest if he had made plans to see his family already then I don't see any reason why he should stay at home.  There's nothing he can do for you, you have chicken pox and I know you don't feel well but will just have to sit it out.  Sorry if that sounds harsh!  I hate having anyone around me when I don't feel well so we're all different.  Guys think totally differently to us girls and he will probably be thinking whats the point of sitting at home listening to you complaining about the chicken pox when there's nothing he can do to make them go away.

As for all the other stuff you've mentioned on this post and others.  Well I think you have to ask yourself one question - Am I happy in this relationship?  It doesn't sound as though you are and to be honest life is too bloody short to feel like you're getting the piss taken out of you by the person who is supposed to be your partner.  I'm talking about the kid thing in your other post and the list of things he doesn't do etc etc.  Not the fact that he's gone to see his family.

Rarely are relationships perfect, that life, but they should be a team effort and it doesn't seem like he is much of a team player.   :-*   :-*
