Question for the Retired Ladies ...
« on: 24 June 2023, 02:06:29 am »
How many of you have retired and what did you do for work after this job? Did you keep sex work strictly online only? By this I mean photo sales, webcam, phone chat etc ...

What made you retire and do you regret it? And if you started up again how easy did you find it?

Just wondering if there is life after sex work ...

For me I think this job will always be part of my life in one way or another, although if I win the lottery maybe not and I'll go and do something else.

Just thoughts I have when I can't sleep  :FF

I have gone back to a vanilla job full time after being back in sex work full time again for less than 6 months (Taking Christmas off was nice lol) A job I wanted became available & I was pretty much guaranteed it so thought why not, it's not the most stressful job in the world & it still offers me some kind of freedom (my manager is pretty good at sorting holidays/time off last minute etc) and tbh I am not really missing Sex Work at all, I keep my toe in I think more out of habit that anything else - I cam when I feel like it & I see clients when I want to - however I do think another 12 months and I will just walk away from it all and leave it at that

I think there is always a life after sex wrok, it depends on what you want to do with it

100 % there is a life after sw… there is a big beautiful world out there. I’ve become disingenuous with sw and I’m working my way out.

I can’t wait for the day I’m not selling myself and working on my true passions, i know what problems id rather deal with.

Well I retired for a while, due to an on-going illness and I wasn't going back. But eventually did and started all over again with new profile. I had no references and couldn't sit on PIP so decided to go back gradually.

But what I do now is separate my work from personal life. Tour part time, max 3 days a week. Sometimes I only work every 2 weeks.  I used to tour 5 days a week, every week and only have weekends off.

In my spare time, I don't answer emails, turn phone off, and generally enjoy my personal life. I think a lot of escorts (including myself) get so wrapped up in sex work that it literally becomes your life and forget that it's a job.

I think online sex work is just the same, you put in so many hours with clients and content creation, it's the same as physical bookings.

Anyone retiring coz they burnt out or sick of sex work, it's very difficult to have a normal job, so if you want to go back into it, do it part time maybe around a part time job/ studies or other hobbies.

I'm currently retired atm but looking to come back into it again. I've retired and been out of work more than I've been in it with civvy jobs or looking after my child. I always find that it in the back of your mind, this job. So I don't think I'll ever get out of it properly!

Is your child the reason you stopped? I'm thinking of having a child and possibly looking for a way out of this. My head is completely fcked at the moment.

To be honest, I don't think I'll ever get it out of this either child or no child.

It's one of the few things in my life that's actually worked out.

I've been in and out of this job for twenty odd years but have always done civvy work alongside it. The first time I quit sex work was because I was studying and had a part time job which I really enjoyed so I didn't have time for anything else. I came back to it to supplement my civvy self employment and it was easy enough - just a case of making a new profile really! That's the beauty of this work, you can come and go as you please and adjust your services depending on your health, energy levels etc.
(I did try camming only but it wasn't enough to feed a cat - terrible earnings!)

Yes my child was disabled so that's the reason why I stopped but also the reason why I started again sometimes for a couple months as we were so skint and just to get a bit of money. I started when I was 18 so twenty odd years ago. I stopped before I had him as I wanted a child more than this job. Throughout the years I've dipped my toe in and out. I've never really got anything significant out of this job, literally to just pay bills and that and a couple cars. I'm going to come back one last time and work weekends to try and build up savings.

It's never the right time to have a child but things work out how there are meant too. Just go for it. I hadn't worked in a civvy job for 7 years as I was looking after my kid but managed to get one.Even though I hate it atm as not used to working for 11 pound an hour lol.

I retired for a while... Worked in HR and had a baby. I'm now back escorting and working in HR part time. I find escorting great for family life. I can make my target by 1pm( I start early) and have the rest of my day with my little girl. Days in the office aren't so great. I'll be going back to escorting only soon. I definitely wouldn't go back to full time civvie work. X
