Punternet - Is it worthwhile?
« on: 11 November 2009, 06:38:40 pm »
Hi Ladies, I have never advertised on Punternet but I am thinking about taking a deluxe ad.

I did a search and it seems that there are only 55 ladies advertising - deluxe and basic together - in the whole of the South-East (as defined by PNet).  This would indicate to me that it is not really worth bothering.

Can any of the ladies who do advertise there comment as to whether it is worth putting my hand in my pocket.

Thanks

IMHO, it's worth it. It's the longest running advertising site, and appears to be popular with a lot of punters. And after all, if you get one 1 hours appointments from a deluxe ad, you've paid for it and more.

Its a bugger having to get a credit card (or a pre paid one in my case), but I whack on enough to see me through 3 months every time (which is less than 1 appointment anyway) and I can just withdraw it when I like.

It always amazes me, because punternet doesnt come up very high on  a search for 'BBW ESCORTS' but once a month, I still get someone saying 'Oh, I found your ad on Punternet...'.

I can only go on a BBW point of view, but maybe try it for a month, and when you're talking to your clients, maybe just ask them where they found your ad..and if they say Punternet, you know it's paid for itself.

After all, gotta speculate to accumulate!

I don't really get a lot of business from Pnet, but everytime I think about cancelling a client will tell me he found me through them, so I decide to stay.

It's worth a try, but in my experience it's very difficult to get a client to tell you what site he found you on. At one point I tried to ask everyone who called, but few were more specific than "I searched for escorts and found this site with lots of escorts on it and then I went to your site". I realised I'd be exactly the same when I was looking for a personal trainer and had no idea which personal trainer listing site I'd been on, so I don't expect those who stumble on a listing site to tell me anything useful.

I get most of my work from Punternet (even more lately, thanks to Ms Harman  :D) and have never had a deluxe listing - the ordinary one with website link does me fine. I do find that different parts of the country work differently though - when I work in London it is mostly AW whereas Punternet really comes into it's own further north and in the Midlands.

I do usually ask clients where they found me, but the vast majority just say 'the internet', so it can be pretty hit and miss. I would say just give it a go - you only have to pay a month at a time, so if it isn't doing anything it's easy enough to drop.

I'd agree that it's worth advertising on Punternet - it's been around a while and is a well known site.  The normal listing with a link to your website seems to work ok.  As Anika-Mae and Amy have said, it can be difficult to find out where a client actually found you.   Like Amy I get the "on the internet" answer  ::), so I try asking "where on the internet did you find me" or "how did you come across my details" but I often still get the sort of answer Anika-Mae mentioned.

Just wondering if it's still a good place to advertise?

I'm thinking about trying a basic ad next month (to dip my toe) :)

I get a few clients that tell me they saw my ad on Punternet, I think it's worth a try.

Punternet is, apparently, my #1 source of website traffic! Even though I say mean things about it all the time. ;D

It's also regularly mentioned in the mainstream media as a moral cesspit so probably every man in the UK has visited it at least once.

Hi

Is it worth listing a basic ad or a deluxe ad?

I have the deluxe ad.  It has not generate much business for me, but I have had maybe 1-3 jobs a month so it has more than covered the ?30. Therefore it is worth it.

I've got a deluxe ad too - I do think that having a photo makes you stand out more than the line ads, although I would say that a just abougt equal amount of my PN hits come from the FRs rather than the SPD on it's own. The regions on PN can be so huge (we get 'Yorkshire' as a single entity, as is 'Scotland', which is also a pain when travelling about but that's a story for another day) that you can end up in a sea of adverts, but this has improved a bit now punters can search by town and postcode.

You don't know until you try :). The only other thing I would mention is that you can't link to an AW profile, so if you don't have a separate website you'll have to rely on phone contact. This means you'll either have to try and fit a hell of a lot of information into your ad, or grit your teeth and prepare for the newspaper-ad stylee callers who haven't had access to your services, prices, pictures and so on. I have to admit, that would drive me nuts but then I'm not very patient ;D.

Thanks ladies, that's helped me alot and will consider PNet.

At present I only have an AW profile but considering getting my own website in the near future.
The ad style callers would do my head in, so would have to go with a deluxe ad and cram all info in, although whose to say they'll read it anyway.. knowing my luck lol.
