They have to allow for wear and tear.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

If it's not the scheme you can apply to get back 3 times your original deposit ( might be 2.5 times deposit) but by law it has to be in the tenanacy deposit scheme of which I think there are 3 in the UK

They rely on you not knowing the law and your rights

I'm worrying about this with my current work flat. I am due to move out next month but the landlord is an obsessive freak who insists I keep the place in showroom standard at all times. I am convinced he will find the flat inadequately clean when I move out and keep my deposit, even though I know I am a VERY clean and tidy person, I am still not to his mad standards!

The landlord cannot legally keep your deposit. Even if it comes to light what you have been using the flat for, you are not doing anything illegal. And if you haven't been given a lease contract, there is no evidence to state that you were not entitled to work from your "home".

Fight them. Get every penny back.

Welli just got the letter from him that he will not give me back a deposit and on the top of that I have to pay him!! :o because he has to clean the flat ( I left the place in better condition than I moved in ) and also he has to paint it and fix the beds! Both of them was broken before and girls who used to rent from him a flat was charged for it too! By the way he knew what I do because I found him on the aw and now he said I have to pay him otherwise I will get trouble especially when I am a single mother! I am thinking to get solicitor but i am little bit shy to talk about it... Maybe someone could recommend me escort friendly solicitor?

Tell him that he can go fuck himself and point out how much trouble he will be in if he doesn't stop fucking around.

I'm assuming he doesn't have the info needed to actually blackmail you - like your mum's telephone number. So fuck him. And of course he can't do a goddamn thing to you in regards to your child.

PLEASE tell me that he has said these things in writing! If so, then he is in sooooo much trouble.

The fucker should have put your deposit into a protection scheme account. That's the law. And trying to blackmail/extort more money from you is not going to look good at all.

I'm not sure if you actually need an "escort-friendly" solicitor. You only need a solicitor. In fact, I'd recommend that you start with Citizen's Advice and/or Shelter.

At the very least, he will never get an extra fucking penny from you.

Please stand up to this cockwaffling cunt and make him sorry he ever thought of taking advantage of a woman just because she's a prostitute.

If the landlord did not reply by now, try all the above mentioned methods, ultimately you can take him to the Small Claims Court which is very straight forward and if they rule in your favour you can always send the bailiffs to the landlord' address.  However inform this in advance, or try a Mediator - surely the landlord will not want to get in trouble over this.
