Ideas and Sympathy Please
« on: 24 August 2010, 06:55:32 pm »
I am in Ireland, on tour, and I feel like death. I have managed to get in to see a doctor 70 euro!! and after a booking today I have turned my phone off, but in the meantime I am stuck seeing the bookings that I have booked in, I cannot cancel them.

I feel like I am breathing through a bag and I cannot think how I am going to get through tomorrow. I have two hour booking and one 90 mins and if I don't see them they will leave bad feedback, and unfortunately that does matter here.

Any ideas for a quick fix? I feel so bloody miserable.

God, what a nightmare. It's difficult to say without knowing what's wrong, but I would say try and eat something (soup maybe), have a hot bath and an early night - hopefully you'll feel at least well enough tomorrow to get through your bookings.

If you can get out to a shop, I would try and get your hands on some Berocca - it's an orange vitamin drink and tastes rank but has kept me on an even keel before. I don't like caffeine drinks, but I know others swear by them and a couple of paracetamol will help keep your temperature down.

When are you due back? Can you get home early?

Do you not have a confirmation system?so both client and you can check in with each other, at least when they phone for directions?I'd just tell them when they got in touch on the day.

I've got no helpful ideas but bucketloads of sympathy. I hope you feel better soon. :-\ (Hugs but you better not give me the lergy too!)

Also, like Strawberry says - if they're going to be phoning you for confirmation, surely they'll hear from your voice that you're poorly? If it's a cold or something, I'd just say it's up to them if they want to come and catch it, they're welcome but you fear your service might not be up to your usual high standard so it's their choice - surely they'd understand and, if sane, choose to reschedule for another time?!

Chest infection. I am due home sunday but sods law i caught the ferry, I have to drive down to Cork tomorrow. I will go and have a look for berocca now, thanks chick.

Strawberry, I am working in Ireland. The booking have come through EI, and they have been in place weeks. Because these guys know they can slay you with reviews, they will if they don't get their own way. Crap, but true.  They have a system called 'trusted reviewer' clients get a badge and all sorts. And guess who my bookings are with tomorrow? FFS, its like physcological warfare out here sometimes. I cannot ring them to cancel as they arranged through PM and will only call when they are in the area I directed them to.

I know how that feels - I had to cancel my trip to Glasgow and had five days off three weeks ago because I was so ill with exactly the same thing. Do take it easy - I had one day that was by far the worst and the others were bad but not as bad - hopefully that's it over with today. You do need to rest though, and if you have to drive tomorrow, please be careful.

You could try steam if you can get your hands on some Olbas Oil or Vicks or eucalyptus-type stuff. I would honestly just get to bed though - hopefully your bookings tomorrow aren't too early. Let us know how it goes ;).

Sorry about that, yes I know what you mean. I've had guys try pressurise me when I've been ill or simply unable to see them - advance booked or not, and known that to see them would risk a bad review - but to cancel also risks their wrath.

I always get a phone number and confirmation time just in case, and won't arrange via pm alone partly to guard against TW and partly so if anything comes up you can let them know.

Hope it turns out ok.

UPDATE

Well, I can recommend berocca, I actually saw a client. I feel fecking awful, but I think I can see the light. I just want my own bed, my teddybear and my dog right now. Thank you all, for some strange reason you guys always perk me up.

Oh Lucy im so sorry, what an absolute twat. I hope his manhood shrivels and falls off, words fail me at how annoyed i am on your behalf at the evilness of some clients.
Tonight for reasons i have explained on another thread i am wishing a slow and painful death on every horrid punter who has ever being cruel, nasty or caused us distress. >:(

I hope you have a safe journey home and that you feel better soon.

It's sods law isn't it.  You try and be organised and make sure everything is in place well in advance and the one thing you simply can't predict is your health.

Since coming on here and having written a thread about how to maintain your body and mind while on tour I have taken to taking one vitimin tablet (the fizz in a drink type) every day.  Hopefully that is helping ward off any nasties, as I am prone to eating the wrong things and not enough friut and veg.

In the last few months I have had 2 throat infections.  I'm not sure if it is escort related or not, but I never got them so often before.  In the last few days I started to get a sore throat, but it hasn't amounted to anything (touch wood) and I do wonder if the extra vitamin intake helped ward it off.

It is Sunday today so I assume you are driving.  Be careful, try to take your time.  You can get a vitamin shot like the red bull ones at some service stations, which I find to be much more affective than the red bull ones, so maybe grab one of those if you come across them.

Never stop learning, never stop teaching, never close the door to new ideas.

Ah (((Lucy))) I hope you're home safe and sound.  In a couple of days you will be able to put it all behind you, just have a few days rest and get better, lots of sleep in your own bed.    :-*
