The Bank of England is yet to set a date for when they are no longer valid,  they will give an announcement soon on a date, but will give us 6 months notice.  I suddenly had lots of people paying me in the old ones this month.  I assume people trying to get rid of their stash of old notes, as no cash point has been giving them out for ages now.

I’ve noticed loads and loads of old ones too lately. Clients raiding their piggy banks perhaps lol

I have been using them everywhere I can for months now, but mainly for petrol and at the supermarket. I will be sorry when they run out and will hold one back for posterity  8)
Can't be doing with any of this card only business either- and contactless? With my record of losing things? Not ruddy likely.  :-\
