Not seeing the point of having a personal website...

Ok..this isnt another doom gloom thread, but I just dont see a point in renewing my current website since it doesnt seem to attract any more or less business than without it. Having witnessing it as I type, It seems like just changing up a few things about myself does the job way better than putting up an optional website that pretty much re-iterates everything thats already on my advertisement. I dont know how the websites you ladies there in the UK are advertising on, but the few we have here pretty much allow us to post about a dozen photos, write enough information, and show everything else pertinent.

What seems to be how it really is, is that majority of the base is going for who's new on the block...so adding a website seems to be overkill. And in a place where I've already been established doesnt seem to do nothing at all. I have a flash-based website, so Im not sure maybe if that also doesnt do any justice, since from what I hear html is what pulls on search engines. Even if thats the case, the advertisement websites do all the work anyway in getting the exposure.

What would I be missing without a website, really?

Over here there are a lot of directory/profile type ads only carrying a small amount of info. Having your own independent site does make you look more serious as well as professional.

I do sometimes wonder the same since I get a lot of guys who've simply lifted my number from either my front page, or a directory listing. They are calling with little to no info, although I do know some guys genuinely call like this just to get a conversation going so they can guage your personality too.

Anyway, the number of callers I've had recently who just haven't read my details - haven't looked at pricing and then say "Oh, you are too far away" or "too expensive" or "what are your measurements" "So what does that size mean" are just making me feel like it's not worth it!

Then again I've had some lovely gents who take time to read the site, get the info they require and make a straightforward booking............
