Newbie Introduction :) & some advice needed
« on: 07 July 2011, 02:03:57 pm »
Hello ladies & gents!

Just wanted to introduce myself properly as this site has been awesome.

I am a 26 year old Caribbean young lady, size 8-10, I have a degree, i do a little bit of glamour modelling, I am full of aspirations, i am single, no babies yet, full of life and i am broke!!!

I am sick of reception work, admin, working in boring offices, I have no time for me anymore and I am constantly tired and its so frustrating that i am doing this for so little money. My financial situation is making me so unhappy, i want a better life and i want to get to a position where i can invest my money and time in myself and my family.

i've officially had enough and after many conversations with myself i have carefully decided to have a go at escorting, i think it is something that i will enjoy and be quite good at. I know i am not necessarily going to have a belle de jour experience lol, but a girl can dream! I am just after a better life, more money and more time for me.

ive taken quite a bit of time out to research but i am still feeling a little lost :( i just need a few helpful hands to help to push me in the right direction.

I am really close to my family and friends but I will have to keep this a secret from them as I would hate to cause them any worries and stress, plus i dont want them to think any less of me. but now i just feel super alone and have no one to speak to about this (so happy i found this forum).

i have a few questions, i would just like some opinions and advice from you lovely ladies.

Privacy
what do you ladies do  to ensure that your work is kept a secret, especially when working locally. its such a small world, I am scared that if i work in london i may bump into a client when i am with my family :( has this ever happened to any of you guys? also for those of you that dont show your faces in pics, does this affect your work?

Agencies
I have decided that i would like to start working for an agency, but i of course would like to know that i am going to be safe, the  best rate, keep as much of the money as possible, and have my privacy respected. please if anybody could recommend any good london agencies i would really appreciate it (please feel free to pm)

types of client
(sorry if this sounds a bit green and silly lol)
can you be picky with this, how (or can) you make yourself more marketable to a higher paying client? I read a lot about ladies travelling to dubai for ridiculous amounts of money, is this a bunch of B.S or is there an agency that can get me this type of work?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks ladies

Hey  ;D
I am also new to this and would also be interested in some of the answers.

Rest assured though that you are NEVER alone as you have friends here, you just haven't met them yet!!!!

I also need to keep my new career secret from everyone in my life, including my best friend (I just know that she wouldn't approve!!)

My thought on meeting a client in the street are that THEY were buying your services at the end of the day. Just hold your head up high. Remember you were suppling a service just like many other careers do!!

One of the best pieces of advice I have been given on here so far is 'think like a business woman (man).

Privacy

Only a very small number of people know what I do and they have been selected by me as my confidents as I know they are un-judgemental, I dont show my face in my photos and it has never affected the amount of work I have received in over 2 years I have had steady indie and agency work.  A girl I worked with turned up on a job and the guy was her uncle (her actual mothers brother not marriage) thankfully in this game privacy works both ways, they agreed mutually not to mention it as he was married and didnt want his wife to know and she didnt want her mum to know so it was a done deal.

Last week I was in a bar with my husband and one of my clients walked past in the same bar we caught each others eye and I just smiled like you do when you see a stranger and carried on with my business.  I live and work in Leeds and this is the first or second time this has happened so imagine how much busier London is and think of the chances of bumping into a client, very minimal

Agencies

I have worked for agencies and indie, I love indie work as you can pick your own clients but agency work seems easier to me although someone is taking a cut of your earnings, swings and roundabouts on that one.  Best to get a good recommendation or meet the owner first and check them out, NEVER pay any money upfront! Its a con!

types of client

Nope, in my experience you cannot be as picky with your clients when you are working for an agency.  A girl in my agency will not see anyone that isn't white (her choice and everyone respects that) but truth is its easier to send someone that is happy to see everyone to avoid the race question on the phone (if that makes sense) the agency are only taking a % of each booking and therefore will not normally turn clients away without good reason.  It would be even more difficult to have someone turn up and turn them away because you dont like them.  They are paying for a service so there is always going to be clients you wouldnt normally like to see.

Its the same with girls that only do longer bookings my agency look after me the more flexible I am so if I will go out for an hours job with an hours travelling I will get the overnight. Alot of receptionists in agencies will look after the girls that do any work not cherry picking.

I don't believe there is a way to market yourself to higher end clients, if they are out there they will find you and are more likely to do so if you are realistic, i.e I charge ?150 an hour guys pay ?150 then might keep me alot longer and usually if local book again.

The whole travelling and 'Belle de Jour' lifestyle is not really a thing that happens much in this game, from what I had seen on TV I was expecting to be travelling all over and one quote I will always remember was 'well, if I can just do 1 Overnight a week I dont need to see any other clients' This makes me laugh now as overnights average every 3 to 6 months and I see around about 2-3 clients a day 5/6 days a week.

If you can find an agency that is genuine you will be very lucky, just make sure they dont try and charge you first....Good Luck. :)

Hi Lailah terri,

I haven't actually started yet as I am keen to do loads of research and try to make the minimum of mistakes!!
I have decided to go indie as I am a bbw and agencies in my area are shocked if u say u r a bbw! One agency asked me what I meant by a bbw (was a size 12/14 rather than a 8/10!!!!) Most of us know that 'real' bbw r much bigger than a 14!!! OMG to me a size 14 is slim!!!
Have u actually started out yet??

By the way your Marilyn Monroe quote is usually the one I use to describe myself but I thought that I would try another one for a while lol

Wowzers, that must have been a kodak moment! family dinners must now be quite interesting hee hee. privacy working both ways makes sense, i suppose most guys arent open and loud about using escorts.

thanks for the advice, my plan is to go indie once my feet are a little wet, i am completely new to this so an agency feels like the right place to start. Anyone with any good (london) agency rec's please feel free to help a sister out !

makes sense! its funny i have seen the race thing pop up quite a few times in the posts that i have read.

oooh keep me updated on how it all goes, i am really scared to start indie, maybe i am just being silly and a big scaredy cat loool. I have sent a few images to some agencies today, fingers crossed i will get some work soon.

the agencies seem to have a "type" that they like :( very generic and boringly beautiful... *yawn! beauty comes in all different packages and i am sure you will do really well! I am finding that a lot of the (seemingly) higher end agencies dont have any black girls. Thankfully I know there are successful black escorts from this forum or else i would have been put off.

I havent started yet, i started researching last week, today was my first day of action (sending out images), i am hoping i will be able to start soon, i am looking forward to it

Very true.  I also often wonder if they prefer foreign girls to British too...

Privacy in London - I have run into a client before, in the cafe at the end of my road.  Still, the likelihood of that happening is extremely slim!

Clients - generally I get the impression that charging a bit less than you might like means that you have much more than a choice of clients.

can you be picky with this, how (or can) you make yourself more marketable to a higher paying client? I read a lot about ladies travelling to dubai for ridiculous amounts of money, is this a bunch of B.S or is there an agency that can get me this type of work?

There are agencies like this but I get the feeling that they only take the most perfect, model-like girls in the world.
As to marketing to a higher paying client - the wealthiest are not always necessarily the nicest (I see a lot of wealthy guys through my massage agencies) but I would think grooming, grooming, grooming, a designer wardrobe, professional website and very good pictures...and accept that the demand is lower so although you will see less clients you will probably earn the same as someone who charges less.  Depends what you want - some prefer to only do longer bookings and see less people, some prefer shorter, more regular bookings and more steady work!

Indie vs Agency
I work both as a masseuse (only indie as an escort) Agency is easier and less time consuming (and time is money!) but unpredictable, I find that you have to be in a constant state of readiness if you are 'on call'.  And you need to be available pretty much every night if you want to get steady work!
Indie, you will need to read up more and apply a healthy dose of cynicism to most messages...I generally go by the 'timewaster unless proven otherwise' rule!

good luck!

To answer your questions:

Privacy
what do you ladies do  to ensure that your work is kept a secret, especially when working locally. its such a small world, I am scared that if i work in london i may bump into a client when i am with my family  has this ever happened to any of you guys? also for those of you that dont show your faces in pics, does this affect your work?

--- I do not blur my pics out as personally i don't have much to worry about  :P The important people know what i do - hubby, close family member - the rest can go twizzle on it.

I think blurring your pics (blurring them well - i might add) and retouching any marks that may pin-point you personally is a must... I think it would help you to not to be exact with location... i.e advertising that you live a station away from where you actually do... I advertise the town that is a 10-15 minute drive (so not too far) and when doing incalls I tend to give a landmark that is 5 mins walk from mine that is also easy to direct from. I never text address or even text directions. They need to call me for it all. That way as soon as they leave, i know they would have forgotton  :P

Most clients if you bump into them, do have manners enough not to approach you, they just smile and nod. Ive seen a client in my local shop - where i live it is a small town... I understand their need for discretion and they *fingers crossed* so far in this game, have acknowledged mine. Seriously, i have worked in london previously, the chances of bumping into someone is VERY low. Just make sure you show that you need discretion in your write-up but never go into the reason why. OH AND HAVE A SEPERATE PHONE. I have had someone call my private phone tons of times after saying to them previously that i need discretion; they did not listen to me saying not to call 20 times when i obviously am not going to answer... then i told them as they are disrespectful and not discreet, do not contact me again. You need to bre prepared for that so have a seperate phone, you will be thankful you did.

As for blurry affecting work. It can do - I had a discussion with a client before about this and he said he would not see a girl with a blurry photo because he does not want to just see a body he wants to enjoy a pretty face. But for your comfort and your worries abour discretion, best to blurr. It's all down to preference. You should not let the amount dictate anything that could make you feel uncomfortable

Agencies
I have decided that i would like to start working for an agency, but i of course would like to know that i am going to be safe, the  best rate, keep as much of the money as possible, and have my privacy respected. please if anybody could recommend any good london agencies i would really appreciate it (please feel free to pm)

I don't know much about agencies - except yes, there are pros and cons.
A good agency would provide a sense of security and some a driver.
They would sift through the crap to find you legitimate clientiele
A REAL agency does not charge you for pics or web renting because they after all, earning from your back.
But i prefer independance - I like control over who i will and won't see, i like to keep 100% of my earnings and i like to have control over preferred amount that i would like to charge. Plus my clients tend to like being able to talk to the real girl. Plus the laws are strange.
As an independant and a newbie there are alot more risks - you have not tuned your bullshit detector yet and don't trust your escort spidey sense as yet - alot of girls learn through experience, so wetting your toes with an agency might ease you in, else, buddying up to a girl nearby might help? BUT even with an agency there are risks - they do not get it right all of the time either. Doing a self-defence class is a good idea regardless of route.
Most agencies charge between 20% up to around 60% of your earnings so be prepared to take home ?120 or less depending on agency and the fluctuation of work. --- From what i know, it is harder to get work through an agency as clients can be wary.

types of client
(sorry if this sounds a bit green and silly lol)
can you be picky with this, how (or can) you make yourself more marketable to a higher paying client? I read a lot about ladies travelling to dubai for ridiculous amounts of money, is this a bunch of B.S or is there an agency that can get me this type of work?

Not a silly question at all. My first clients when i was 18 were not good looking at all!!! That is the test if you would make a good escort :P BUT saying that, you can also meet guys who look like george clooney to models... It does fluctuate. I find the banter and humour at times more sexy though. But be prepared... could you enjoy it with a very old man who is nervous as? Could you relax and spark conversation with a businessman who is stressed from his day at work? Are you confident enough to say no when a man starts acting strange around you? Could you make the elephant man feel beautiful? <--- I know, an exaggeration but there are times when guys have come close!

You have to be a mixture of a psychic (when guys dont know what they like) a psychologist (when guys want to talk and cuddle - yes it happens) a sex goddess (when a guy just wont come and another finds it hard to get it up) a headmaster (when you get peeved) Some guys have seen me when they have erectile disfunction but still want to feel sexy so sometimes it is not all about the sex. You need to ask if you could be a chameleon like that.

As for a better clientele, just make sure that you are not alienating your potential by charging too much or too little, so check out competition (charging too little makes more creeps come out of the woodwork and too much, you would rarely get a call - be firm and stick to what you think is right) and try to have fun as people do guess when you are not. Also, vet people for your safety and sanity more than anything else. A higher paying client may end up being rubbish, and seeing too many rubbish people is not good for you. As someone once said to me "i would never see a ?50 hooker because if she charges so little, who has she seen and what has she done. Plus i like a woman with more respect for herself" amen.

Hun - alot of that is bullshit. Though i have travelled with clients before, got spending money out there and payment in full before i went, i had seen them for a long time on 1-3 hour bookings regularly, i was single so i did not need to worry about anything in discretion plus i got to know them enough for them to know and abide by my rules, so i was not bothered to let them have my real name for tickets (which is a risk if you need discretion guaranteed you will have a tracable online presence, but i knew alot about this bloke, even where he worked to his families names, he was single and was moving abroad to where we were going, i also made sure people knew where i was going but not why, i set up my own security base - knew where the local embassy was as well as key phrases)

- most of the time they are bullshit especially if they have not met you once and offer it. I would never accept now because it would not be logical with a hubby :) Plus i believe there are alot more bullshitters out there then a few years ago.

ALSO another piece of advice - never get too greedy - if someone offers you WELL over your amount, it is too good to be true.

Also, you do not have to fuck someone for free to see if they like you (ahem, loz07uk - still up to his tricks but that is another forum post)

Hope this helps :P

Re: Newbie Introduction :) & some advice needed UPDATE
« Reply #10 on: 08 January 2012, 12:52:49 am »
Just wanted to post a quick update and a massive thank you! I've been working as an escort since August/sept now and i am having a really good time. my life has completely turned around and i am definitely at my happiest. I really love my job and for the first time in a long time i am happy to just live and be me. I cant wait to get up and get ready and start the process of transforming into a bad ass smokin vixen hee hee. Ive been getting a few messages here and there from a few fellow newbies that saw my first post, just want to let everyone know that i decided to go the agency route, ive been through 3 BS ones but i am now with 2 good ones that i am happy with. I had a really crappy start in this industry and felt like giving up; one pisstaker/timewaster that didnt pay and a really drunk client booking me for a threesome with his unsuspecting wife (i wish i was joking) who of course wasnt happy to see me, Fortunately I decided to just learn from the shit times and keep going, if anything i feel blessed to have dealt with it early on, it really helped to shape my perspective and things could only get better, which they did. I am halfway through writing up my experiences which i will add to the "contribute to Saafe" section. Its pretty long but should be done pretty soon, hopefully it will be of some help to someone else :)
Again thank you to everyone that helped me out and made me feel welcome here, just wanted everyone at SAAFE to know that i am super grateful!

I am also a fairly new girl to thus job, and I bloody love it!

I work both agency and independently...indie obviously brings in more dollar but is not without its risks. Unfortunately the agency im with has found me three jobs (1 hour each)in the two months ive been with them. so I tend to give them a miss. Find a good agency and youll definitely have your eyes opened.

Saying that, indie is better financially....you get to keep all the money minus travel costs/accommodation (if you do incalls)...and you can closely vet the clients (as best as you can over the phone..)

Would definitely recommend agency for your first experiences, but once you get your toes wet, so to speak, you will probably prefer indie :)

Either way, good luck hun nd I hope you find the right path for you. Xx

I've only ever run into one client the whole time I've been working in London and even that was a non-event.

I was sitting at a cafe with a friend, I saw him heading towards us, I looked down at my menu and he walked past without a word.  It's possible he didn't even notice I was there as he never mentioned it.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused
