New design
« on: 20 July 2009, 02:16:37 pm »
Well, it's different :)

I find it more readable (more contrast than the somewhat overly pale pink) but, unlike the previous version, if you increase the text size, the site expands to be wider than your browser window, so you need to scroll left and right to read it all. This suggests some of the CSS is not designed properly with such concerns in mind. Can it be twiddled?
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

A slight change in shade

As you can see, we've had a change in pink. The old pink colour has totally disappeared this morning, putting it back to the forum's default blue, which I really don't fancy. I took this opportunity and got the janitor to find us another theme.  I guess it'll take some getting used to for some but I hope you like it.

It looks lovely. The scamblog link near the top gets a bit lost though on my screen.

I think it looks awful! :P No offense intended at all. It's less than half as Klassy as the old pale pink theme! How can we Kourtesans discuss our Klassy business here?!

Okay, I'm getting a bit carried away. It's not that bad and what I think is not that important. ;) Maybe if the hot pink of the header matched the hot pink/red of the lower background gradient? Maybe if there was a huuuuge picture of my face superimposed over everything? Lol. Maybe not that last one.

To be honest with you, I never was a fan of the pale pink version, that was my co-creator SJ. She loves everything pink (she even has a pink fridge).  I'm not a "pink" person. But Saafe has become associated with the colour, so it'll stay a shade of some type of pink. This shade I can live with.

I'll think about having your face plastered all over the foreground. :)

I think it has potential, but looks a bit of a mish-mash. The "support and advice for escorts logo" doesn't really go with the header. Also the gradient behind the top section appears not to be tiled properly, resulting in a line of different pink at the right hand edge. I also think there are a variety of different pinks used which don't really go with each other. I think the stripy grey at the top of the background might be better off being used for the whole background. Or alternatively, gradient the stripes to solid black...

Thanks XW5 ill have a look on the theme creators link, i cant take any credit or otherwise for this one, its an almost out of the box install.

It came about because I ran the latest smf upgrade this morning, and somewhere between here and there, it wiped the custom theme, just left me with the default, so i spent all morning trying to recreate it then for reasons apparently linked to php, ftp and directory ownership, couldn't upload the new images for the gradients, until that was kicked,  so it was search for an up to date pink theme fast, this was the closest I could get to pink, so it was chosen

And thank you Trafford I need to play with the scam blog link, i have had to add that manually, the last one was in the news, this isn't displaying news, or if it is, I cant see it.

Over the next few days, other commitments allowing, ill fix things as they are mentioned

Bloody hell. It's just a forum, it's not a work of art. It's fine as it is. The janitor has enough on her plate without you picking it to bits. It's a theme (skin) which she can do little about. And the pink logo's fine as it is. It goes with the inner pink bits. All we need to worry about is that the forum still does the job we intended it to do.

She chose it, I'm happy with it. Say thank you janitor for putting her blood sweat n tears into this site.

Much better (for me anyway) as I used to find it quite difficult to read the pale pink writing on the old version but my  eyes aren't what they used to be.
I like it and definitely think it should stay pink, it's how a lot of people think  of this site I reckon.

Oh and I'd like to add its funny...American express has come out with a credit card very similar to the color of this theme. Plum LOL
