My first cringe moment when booking hotel for in call......
« on: 23 September 2011, 01:48:22 am »
I found that I am available to work this weekend and luckily not too tired so decided to book a hotel for incalls in the hope that Friday/Saturday may be busy .

Tried to book online  and kept getting different rooms /rates. So, nothing for it but to ring the place direct .
I'm so glad the man on the end of the line with the big deep voice couldn't  see me when he said 'Is it just for yourself?' and 'Business or pleasure madam?'  Er both???? Oh God!!!!!!!!!

On a  more serious note, I am  staying at a Premier Inn(no laughing purlease) and it does say on their website that people paying in cash will need I.D.  I can pay by card , not a problem but I do tend to use my working name to book and the card is in another name.

Will this be a problem? Does anyone else use their real name when booking a hotel?

The guy didn't ask me for the name on card, but I am worried in case someone notices  the names don't match??

He came in the morning and woke me up with killer instinct. Wish I could stop this now.

On top of that there was the  promotion of the full English.......... all you  can eat......... buffet madame!!!!!!
Oh dear, I think I better go and do some more acting classes.

If that reception guy is still there when I arrive I am sure I will get  a lot less of the 'madame' ha ha . More like Miss Madam ! ::)

I just book normally under my own name and pay with a credit card. I say my husband is joining me and ask for a second key.  Ask for a quiet room away from reception, preferably a high floor.

If I am staying at a Travelodge I ask for a disabled room  - firstly they are bigger and secondly they are the one next to the keycarded door.

The receptionist will forget you the second she puts down the phone! Don't worry.

no because you or your partner could have some mobility needs   have you checked that its not keycarded ect
the easiest way to check is to just ring and say that your travelling with kids ect and last hotel you stayed in was keycarded in the lifts and corridors  ( make sure you say both as some can be keycarded in just the lifts) and that it was a nightmare with young kids  ect ect   - it always works
