Harriet Harman Member of Parliament for Camberwell and Peckham

Harriet is really interested in escorting and indeed was personally responsible for
the draconian series of  both anti escorting laws and police approaches to our lives.

OK, the way I see this is that:
I'm either an exploited sex worker imported into the UK by Russian Mafia
-in which case I want to be provided with a means of escaping my evil captors,
training for a new career AND A FREE COUNCIL HOUSE

or
That most escorts are not victims, and we just want her to ask the new government to alter her "evil anti-escort laws"
that get us killed {I'm thinking of restrictions on advertising and not letting us work with another escort, for safety}

If I'm remembering correctly, the advertising restriction wasn't a law, but a - more evil - 'Hello publishers, as the government we think you should do this. If you don't, we might legislate. Just saying...'

Similarly, the not working together bit is at least a century old, although you could argue that by failing to implement the suggestion in her government's own response to the Paying the Price 'consultation' to allow two people to work together, as an ex-minister she carries some responsibility for the situation continuing.

She is one of those responsible for the 'let's make it impossible for clients to know if what they're doing is legal' law.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

The recently shown documentary by Gail Porter on prostitution gave a good over view of the approaches of
a number of nations towards the business, I did try to find it to paste it into here. I can see their point about
creating obstacles for traffickers which is a valid motive, but the fact is that men are always going to be seeking sex and maladaptive or unbritish as it sounds working with/making provision for prostitution in order that both sex workers and clients are at least safe is clearly the best of a number of emotive options.
The conclusion of the Gail Porter documentary, was Gail stating that in her opinion the key issue that should be
made legal was to allow escorts to work together for greater safety, this legislation alone would transform the
lives of many sex workers.
Being a good girl from now on.

Ian

And unfortunately when clients aren't sure of the legalities for the sex worker, that is when they think they can get abusive, stalk, hassle or generally treat the girl badly. Thinking she won't go to the police because what she is doing is illegal and will get her into trouble. It's surprising how many guys think what we do, or that paying for sex is illegal. If everything was much clearer it would probably cut out a lot of hassle for the workers, and prevent the odd crime or two.
