My body totally dislikes mine. The cramping where your body tries to expel it is normal. I bled black goo for about 2 months and I had thrush and bv constantly for about the first 6 months. Now it's fine but I have to be really careful with unwashed fingers otherwise I get bv and sometimes thrush and a water infection.

Ok, so my period kinda started? Very light but I feel period pain so much. So we will see how it goes, it's not bad.

Just recently I had a big client and I got period pains after penetration? It vanished soon after.

I will still have to get check up in 2 weeks now, so will do it then. Will wait before that

Mine gets pushed by penises. 8 inches or more and we and both feel it. That may be what you thought was a period pain.

Ahh I wouldn't worry, we are not bothered as long as we know what you are talking about, and we do :)

You know this kind of thing makes me think how amazingly different our bodies are and how they react. I had the coil fitted about 18 months ago now. It was the 5 year one. The actual procedure was crazy painful. I can handle pain but that was in a whole new league! Remember feeling so weird after, like I was on a weird emotional high, like I wanted to cry and felt so sad...remember wandering around a tesco express on the way back home and must of looked so dodgy.

Got told I would have a 'normal' period and then experience light spotting every month. I had a very light period after then and no lie, I havent actually had a period or even bled ever since...(this has been over 9 months so nope not pregnant) I love it! but I understand we all react different and might not get results like me. Its amazing not worrying about periods and work. Only thing is of course my body must still go through the process of losing an egg and I can feel some usual symptoms (moody, tender, craving carbs etc) but its harder to tell when its a period or not lol.

Only problem I had was about a couple of months after, my ex (Who had sex with me unprotected) could sometimes feel the string in certain sex positions. So went for a check up and everything seemed fine!

Bottom line is, for sure no regrets and for me is best birth control option ever! especially when unexpected condom breaks happen during work! xx

Best thing I ever did was getting the coil.

I had been on the pill from my teens, but high blood pressure stopped me from continuing to use them.

I had extreme pain when it was fitted (and I'm pretty good when it comes to pain) - I had to lay down for 15mins afterwards as I was so faint. Then had to sit in my car another 30mins till I felt I could drive home. So don't have any bookings the day you are having it done.

2yrs on from having it done I have never had another period. Well worth all the initial pain.

Yes I was really hopeful and pissed off that it didn't work after 8 months I lost 2/3 of my hair in less than two weeks ! Anyway it's all growing back in now , I just was sensitive to the drug , but loads of the nurses had it ( I had to have mine put in under a general aneasethic ) and said they felt fantastic.

I have a friend that loves hers and another friend of hers had the same problem as me !

But good luck I really hope it works xx

No I asked the Doctor to take it out twice over 8 months , it turned me not a complete nervous wreck for 3 weeks of the month and a few days feeling great , so I googled it , watched some YouTube clips , not graphic and pulled the little wotsit out myself ! Thing is I had my strings cut so short due to work I only had around 2 mm to grab with nails .

After getting all hot red and puffy (face) mr GP popped in and said "what are you up to"? So I told him he just shook his head and raised eyebrows .

I got a grip and it just slid out , I could of filled a swear box up the names I called when I could see the little bastard !!!

Anyway I know other women on here who have done it too but it's obviously totally not recommended ha xxx

omg wow! you pulled it out yourself??? That says to me how much in pain and desperate you must of been at the time. hugs. The doctor, just shook his head and raised eyebrows??? what a knob!!!! You were very brave  :-* You know that is one of my biggest fears, when a guy is fingering me, like really deep...I wonder can he feel the strings? if he did would he be curious enough to pull at them? can imagine even a sudden tiny movement would hurt like crazy hell! lol xx

My first one dislodged - I didn't believe my partner when he said he could feel it digging into him, but he really could, and it was the metal bit, too.  :D

Since then, I've only had one civvy partner comment. He was fingering me very deeply and vigorously and said he could feel the strings. They do soften over a few months, and then I think condoms mean clients might not be aware of them at all.
