Middle of the night phone calls
« on: 08 July 2009, 12:57:12 am »
The last couple of days I have been getting calls past midnight wanting a booking that evening (of which I refuse because I am tucked up in bed normally) but I was just wondering if these guys are for real and do they pose more danger then the non vampire clients?

I have actually just had a guy now who wanted me to go at 1am and was a complete arse in all. Did not help me get my happy face on at all (I have pmt and doing full head rotations every 10 minutes)

Anyways rant over (sorry!)

Mucho love

Some of them are for real. They're mostly drunk or on coke, so they're probably more of a risk, and also more likely to be annoying. You do get a few who are just up late because of jetlag or something.

I normally can't be bothered after midnight, but if someone's willing to pay more I sometimes go for it and (knowing I have security), I find it all right. If you can't stand cokeheads I'd avoid the late ones though.

My phone goes off at around 10pm, sometimes earlier if I'm not in the mood to be professional. I got a phone call last Thursday night at nearly 10, from a French guy wanting an outcall to his hotel in Central London. Not a chance I said, I'm tucked up in bed and I don't get out of it for anybody. I did say that if he was unsuccessful in finding anybody I'm available in the morning.
Suprise suprise, he called the next morning, saying he couldn't find anybody for the night before and could he see me later on in the morning before he went back home. He turned out to be a lovely gorgeous Frenchman with a wonderful accent. Even knowing what he looked like, I still wouldn't have gotten out of bed for him.

I don't know about other phone providers, but on Orange you get missed call alerts when your phone's off. I always have a chuckle to myself when I switch my phone on in the morning and receive texts that I've missed phone calls throughout the night. Including one recently at 4.20am. I'm wondering if they really expect me to be awake at 4 in the morning.

Even if I was a night bird I wouldn't go and see anybody at their home in the middle of the night. Not even for more money. Maybe at a hotel, surrounded by lots of people. It would have to be a big hotel in Central London. But late night callers I take no notice of.

I've thought of making my voicemail message stronger on the "if you're calling after midnight there's no point leaving a message" front, but actually it amuses me to wake up on Sunday morning and listen to messages from drunks who thought I'd call back in 10 minutes because they have loads of money.

I recently had a guy leave a couple of messages at 4am asking me to call him back the next day. He sounded lucid, and since he realised that I was asleep I did call him back when I got up. He said I must have got the wrong number. No point dealing with these guys.

Exactly. In the early days naive me used to return calls the next day by discreetly texting them and I never received a reply. So I put the kybosh on that.
Obviously they're in a different frame of mind in the middle of the night to the cold light of the next day.

Ugh, glad to hear Im not the only naive one some days. Gosh, sometimes I do some stupid sh*t. Im not going to even go into what happened when I went along with a booking at 4 am on Independence day (from the Brits  :D 2 heavly coked guys, what a disaster.

I take late night calls on weekends (tried on a weeknight before, and then on my way out he says, "oh, well actually have to be up early thought you could come sooner" BUT usually, they can be more serious then the daytime callers (on this side of the world). They are desperate from not finding something in the nightclub (or whereever else) and are ready. But I have this thing, usually after 4 am I shutdown, as they get really weird. Did meet 2 people after that time before, but its not something to get into the habit of.

And yeah calling back late-night callers is a waste of time. Some men only get into escort mode after a few drinks and a couple lines. Dont let the sun come up on those late night bookings they turn into regular people!

When on tour I will have my phone on 24hr a day, and I do get those calls after the pub closes and in Ireland, where drinking is the national pastime, next to football and hurling. The phone does ring a bit, with loads of, can me and my mates come over, or can you come over to our place! I just hang up and they will usually go and find someone else to bother. But, I do take the odd one at 2 or three in the morning. Usually with no problem.

so my bitching is justified! Because of this all however, I have gotten more aggressive with timewasters, I wont hesitate to tell them off at all. Im fed up with people taking my work for light and will be glad to let them know, and I have. I even told off one guy not to waste my time with endless text cause this is my FUCKING job not a FUCKING chatline, and that made him book!

Must be a global thing, I've had more than my fair share of late night callers.
I state clearly on my site that I don't answer calls between 10 pm and 10 am.

Depending on my mood I turn my phone to silent or off, I know I may be missing out on some business, but it doesn't seem worth it and there are enough of the TW in the daytime, I don't need them annoying me at night too.
Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the ground in the morning, Satan shudders and says: "Oh shit, she's awake!"
