There was a BBC documentary a while back on male escorts. They had contacted just about everyone looking for a 'straight male escort for women' and someone did appear on the programme as one. He was shown turning up to one booking and waiting, waiting, waiting for another one. Two minutes with Google revealed that the majority of his publicity is aimed at men.
It's a similar case with the rash of male escort books. I've seen four. All concentrate on 'for women' work. One's a complete joke and I ROFLed on finding some comments on the web from women who he's attempted to please. (A bit cruel, but he just wasted an hour of my life too.) One's barely readable with some huge double standards. The other two are better written (one should be, given who actually wrote it) but only one admits that, yes, he had male clients too. Even then, he doesn't exactly make it clear as to what proportion they were.
I blame the producers/publishers. They must reckon that no-one's interested in the truth.
