Sometimes I'll answer & put them on hold just to waste their phone bill a little  or play mind games with them if I'm bored ;D

What a great idea!  ;D  "2 mins til I get a pen to write this down..." mohahahaaha!

I'm loving this saving numbers business, such a stress reliever!!

I can now happily ignore calls from those I have labelled "foreignidiot", "puppyidiot", "haggler", and so the list goes on.  Brilliant!!

It's always good to back up if the phone get broken!

I don't have them backed up on laptop - memo to self - get that done immediately - you never know when your phone is going to go tits up - then all the invaluable numbers would be lost and my time could be wasted again.

Thanks for jogging my memory to do that.

I record regulars phone numbers and TW's. The black list list goes:

TW1
TW2
Indian TW
Irish TW
Idiot who stood me up 1
stocking twat
etc....

They all show up in my caller ID when they call. It's awesome cause they go directly to voicemail. But then some don't seem to get the message so they continue calling and calling and calling... If I called someone 10 times and left 5 messages and the person didn't contact me I would GET THE MESSAGE. But these guys don't. Deluded anyone?

pests!  >:(

Dealing with this bull----t is part of the job so I don't let it affect me. But I use to work the phones and deal with the public in my civie job before and had to put with the same shit (or worse because the conversations were recorded and I couldn't just hung up). At least now I can.

I tell people, that way if I genuinely cannot answer the phone, clients they don't assume I'm 'avoiding' them and therefore do not want their business.

But I think this is more about avoiding proven TWs and idiots who we would never in a million years want to talk to again (well it is for me anyway)

I do however save the lovely guys too who I most definately would want to speak to again  ;D

Yeah I'd use the "ignore but don't actually say I never want to speak to them again let alone see them" method. There is a reason we don't want to speak to such people again let alone book them (usually because they have been pushy twats) and because of this pushy-twatness they are likely to change numbers or even don false accents to try and fool you into answering them again if you outright say never to call you again. If you don't actually say that their hope/delusion springs eternal and they never seem to change numbers or get the hint so you usually always know who is calling and who to avoid.

I had one very very creepy ( silence of the lambs voice he had  :-X longest dragging hour of my life probably) persistent idiot finally manage to book me after I kept telling him on the phone I wouldn't see him and to stop calling. He changed numbers 4 times (!) and names twice and put on numerous false accents (yes really!) before finally getting me on an off day where I didn't recognise his peculiar speech pattern and whiny voice.  :-X He was a horrid client, very creepy and caused trouble with the neighbours by shouting in the corridor outside when he was leaving because he didn't feel I had been affectionate enough  :o

And that's the reason why you switch them to voicemail but you never ever ever tell them that "you don't want to see them because of y or x". The creepiest ones will take it very personal, get vindictive and make it a mission to "come and teach you a lesson". If you  let them go to voicemail without explanations they'll become pests for a little while (but that's ok). After a month when no response they'll assume you're a fake, too busy, a drug addict or whatever. They'll get bored and start pestering someone else.

Don't waste your energy and engage in any sort of interaction with them because they're bad news from the beginning and there will be no good outcome. Doing so will leave you burnt, jaded and steal the positive energy required for the real, good & genuine phone bookings.

Oh I just love that feeling when the phone rings and you see the Banned!/Utter Twat/Boundary pusher/booked then cancelled/Getting Annoying/TW?/TW!!..It's just blissful to watch it get crossed to voicemail - never to be answered and for them never to know the real reason why and I agree that it's essential never to tell them they are banned.

I also have one or two * OI.D*'s listed ( Only If Desperate! ) - Basically, they are harmless but either fairly lax on the hygiene front ( underarms, bed linen etc, nothing major  ;D ) not someone I would relish to visit but if needs be , gotta lie back and think of er Manchester?  :-\

I know every single night this week I've had attempted calls from this little lot:

Workalone(that always creeps me out when they ask that)
TWaskedforaddress - in the first email and couldn't understand why I just wouldn't give it out!
ForeignIdiot
AuntFantasist
NervousGuyNoShow

Plus numerous TWs - some of them really ring a lot (!) and I can just relax and giggle to myself.

I call them "timewaster 1, timewaster 2, " and so on.

As well as "rude", "arsehole", and "pest" to name just a few

I use exactly the same method... with said name they give me... next to Noshow - Timewaster - Annoying

i never forget a face tho!

I'm the very opposite of this, the minute they are out the door they are out of my mind and I could walk by them in the street 10 minutes later and i wouldnt recognise them .................... unless they are tall, dark and handsome of course  ;D
