Just a great reason to save numbers...
« on: 13 December 2011, 05:36:41 pm »
Was out in town today, with a friend who does NOT know, so phone was in my bag but on silent.  I happened to pick it up just to see if there were any missed calls, and there was someone ringing in. I accidentally ignored it before I could even get a gander of the number.

When I checked back later for missed calls, it turned out that it was from one of my former admirers... one whose number I had affectionately saved under....

Yes, I was quite pleased with myself when I saw that!! I actually thought about texting him/ringng him back and explaining that was my pet name for him, but--again-- I'm paranoid so I just play "stoopid yank" rather than call them on their personality flaws...

I need to start saving numbers.  Trouble is atm I have a massive backlog of numbers that I have scribbled down; even made into a Word Doc headed TWs etc; but it'd be much more useful not to say 'instant recognition' if they were on my phone already.

My heart sinks however at the thought of spending hours laboriously putting them all onto my phone!
But I guess once done all I need to do is update on a regular basis.

Definitely start doing this from today onwards! You don't need to worry about older numbers so much; if they're going to call again and pester you, they will do so and you can save their number after that. The most important thing is to cut down on the likelihood of answering tedious timewasters by mistake from now on. :)

I actually find it more important to save the numbers of people I don't want to talk to again than of people that I do! Dread to imagine how many hours I'd waste dealing with the same boring old odd'uns/creeps if I didn't save their numbers under an appropriately descriptive name. ;D

As well as "rude", "arsehole", and "pest" to name just a few

Well I've now got into the habit of saving numbers, and also started going through a backlog of persistant TWs and saving them too.
And you are all right, its so GREAT to ignore calls/texts and not feel you are losing out on potential clients.

I happily ignored persistant calls yesterday from someone I'd labelled as 'BoundaryPusher' and persistant texts from a couple of 'TWs'.

Fantastic!

You will find that times like now and other public holidays brings out what I call TWATS.  (Time Wasting Arrogant Tossers) as they may be off work and too much time on their hands.

Im amazed at persistent texters/callers who continue to call/text thinking I've not taken a note of their number and really get a kick out of calling their bluff re No Show or similar.  Its usually denial or better still they just hang up as they know they have been rumbled and they know they aint going to get away with trying to dupe me once again.  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, noting numbers is one of the best things I've learned to do - and no second chances (which is something they all seem to think they deserve)  ............................ twats  ::) ::) ::) ::)

It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

I find it amazing that anyone would not save numbers of time wasters & idiots etc!!!

I get incensed by he ones who have called before & have been no shows or wanking pests who think they can call again. I did loose my rag with one once & ended up f*ing & blinding down him on the phone & he called back to say
" well with a mouth like that I'm glad I didn't trun up for the booking last time"
Arghhhh!! Sometimes I'll answer & put them on hold just to waste their phone bill a little  or play mind games with them if I'm bored ;D

Their denial intrigues me, they swear blind don't they that it must have been someone else messing us around. Morons! I have a couple of A4 pages full of numbers now backed up on my pc, I exchanged numbers with a friend who's an escort & we had a few of the same. It's always good to back up if the phone get broken!

And what's with the ones that call after you've told them to naff off? I've had a guy texting me on & off for a year  :o They must think that we are stupid.

I started off by making lists on my laptop.  The list of TWs got longer and longer and longer! (idiots too).  I prevaricated not wanting to spend hours inputting them on my phone.
So I decided just to add the historic awful TWs/no shows/boundary pushers and then add to my phone as and when.

Mr boundarypush (who I told in no uncertain terms I didn't want to see) has been phoning every day for the last few days.........YAWN!
