Hey just a light hearted thread to keep us semi occupied.
So if you could have your life over then would you still be a hooker? If so then why? and if not then why not?
I wouldn’t, I would have went to Uni to get myself a psychology degree and then I would have went into criminology and be working for the police to profile all the psychos out there, and I would also give my expert advice on programs like ‘Britain’s Darkest Taboos’ and ‘Killer In The Family’, basically I would be Emma Kenny ;D
I wouldn’t be a sex worker again because it’s always been about the money for me and I have been unhappy on the inside for years and I am only realising it now, plus I am 40 next year and so I have wasted so many years on getting paid to keep others happy and forfeiting my own happiness in the process.

I would, yes. If I knew what was coming I probably wouldn't need to as I'd have made a couple of fundamental changes to my life, but it's mostly been a positive experience for me.

It’s mainly been positive for me in the way that I’ve had nothing bad happen to me as in violence or anything but it’s just because I don’t want to do it f/t anymore and I’m annoyed I’ve left it too late to study what I truly want to study and that’s psychology, it’s 6 years of studying for that degree and I would be skint so it would mean either part time work at the MW or 6 more years of sex work, and atm I’m having burn out.

I definitely wouldn’t! It’s not a horrible job and I’ve had lots of positive time’s but I hate the uncertainty (one month earning lots and the next two months earning peanuts etc).
Also hate the terrible hygiene at least 25% of the men I’ve seen have.
Oh and the lying to my family and friends all the time.

Yes I certainly would. It has many advantages. The uncertainty can be a killer plus the social stigma but other than that it is a good option for me.

I would of done it years sooner instead of giving it away for free lol i get treated better by my regulars than I have the guys I met from online dating. But Unfortunately the stigma that comes with selling sex rather than just sleeping around for nothing, Is huge. Somehow my ex found my AW profile and gave me months of abuse in texts and suddenly I was a c**k sucking W***e and a bad mum. And because I earn X amount an hour he stopped paying for kids. And i ended up with a regular turning into a dangerous stalker for 6 months lol
But I choose my hours and who I see and I felt free to make the decision to sell my body, Skills and time. And two fingers to anyone who judges me. Women use to be judged for going to work if they had kids and grown upon as bad mothers for wanting independence from husbands. Years ago I got turned away from a interview because I wanted my husband to stay home with my 4 month old child and I the one out working.
So if I had my life again I would of got rid of my husband 7 years sooner and started escorting 6 years earlier.

Me too my only regret is not starting earlier when the industry was not flooded. On the plus side its changed my life drastically.

I just don’t like a job that you have to take breaks from for long periods of time and when I was younger then I didn’t give a shit who knew what I did and I care now, I suppose it’s all to do with how the individual doing the job feels, it’s been a great way to make money and most guys are okay but the truth is is that I’ve never been a fan of casual sex and sex work is casual transactional sex!

I first started escorting ten years ago - very part time, more out of curiosity.
If I could go back, I’d have put more effort in and worked more & not just spent everything I made.
Ten years ago when I first started, I lived in the city Center, was childless & could have done very well working more. I just didn’t want to. I was happy in my full time job, going out with friends & escorting part time for clothes money! Priorities very different back then.
Now, circumstances very different & I don’t have the same amount of free time to escort although I have a very structured working schedule and I do well - but if I could go back, yes I would still choose to escort, the difference being i would have put much more effort into it & been much more business savvy.

Same as MVM - I would do it again if I had my time again with the benefit of hindsight I would have been more business minded earlier. I pissed my first sprigs of youth up the wall in many ways, spent money that could have been a property deposit on travelling and fancy dinners and mad parties and god knows. But then again, maybe that is what that time is for, I had many fun life experiences, and as aworking class woman who grew up in a small, poor rural town, without escorting, they just wouldn't have been available to me.
What I know I'd change over is I'd be stricter with myself. I worked in brothels and put up with unethical Madames and forced myself through some horrible encounters with gross men over and over again and suffered trauma because of it. I wouldn't touch brothels with a barge pole again and I would unreservedly counsel my younger self to do the same.

And avoid agency work, Luckily I only did 2 nights but on the first night I could of ended up in trouble but my gut and common sense saved me. Also I would not be too nice or see clients outside of work. And even though I have kept my face out of my AW pics my ex found me because my ex recognised my bedroom. Now he can check my AW profile and see my videos and read my blogs to use against me. Thankfully for now his not told my kids but I raised my kids to not judge and that it shouldn't matter who people choose to love, Personal sex life bit to judge a person on who they are. So a problem with being a escort is that we have to be prepared that people close to us may find out.
And if I had a penny for everytime a clients tells me I'm too good for this line of work or if only they had met me in a bar lol Ok so I'll give it up to just service you with my body and time and maybe get dinner and drinks and the odd gift lol Been married and never again.

I would absolutely, I'm from a council estate and doing this allows me to earn much more than I would otherwise (under normal circumstances obviously) and provide for my responsibilities. However I totally agree with burly burlesque, I wish I hadn't started in a brothel, although I did ok by them, I just didn't know better.
One other thing I might have done in another life was wait till I left home to do this, as I hate the grind of keeping it secret, but oh well ;D

Yes, but I would do things differently. I started while studying and pissed my money away thinking I could always earn more, I was wrong. I trusted ‘friends’ and spent way more money on them than I should have, they often took advantage of my generosity. I also pissed away my degree so now I’m worse off than I was 6 years ago.
Would start again and be a lot more disciplined and business minded, finish my studies and buy myself a home. I would pack as many jobs in as possible when the industry was good to me, so I could take it easy once I reached my goals. And I would not let people take advantage of me.
I will build myself back up, it’ll just take a lot longer than I thought when I started out because of my bad choices.

Like many others have said I also would of started earlier, since splitting with my children’s dad 6 years ago I’ve had one really bad relationship. If I could go back and have a do over I would start escorting as soon as my relationship with my kids dad was over. My bad relationship left me in debt which working now is helping pay off. Without that relationship I’d be in an ever better position than I’m in now thanks to escorting.

This is the problem to change being a sex worker would require a lot of change right from my year zero. There were points at which different choices could have taken me in a different direction, but it was always there and the different direction without other elements removed could have reached a really dreadful conclusion.

I think I would have possibly started later. I was only 18 and it might've been better to have done it when I had a little more maturity (just speaking for myself I was a pretty immature 18 year old). But then again I was in a tight spot at the time and money making options were not flying up out of manholes in the floor and I needed money to get somewhere to sleep, and so you do what you have to. No real regrets.

No, I’d make better career choices that enable me to make the same money as I am doing escorting. Shit happened and that’s my way of “catching up”... so hopefully I’ll make enough to enable my potential kids a better life and choose better than I did. Would I want my kids to do this, nope.

However as we cannot turn back time, the whole thing turned out very well for me and opened many doors financially - so in that sense I have no regrets, only regret being not having started this earlier. I’d probably be sorted by now if I started this at say 18/20.

I think the only reason I’m in regret is because I have nothing to fall back on in terms of other skills, like I was young when I started and though I would learn something new “tomorrow” and I’m getting on now...

Yes definitely. I did it one time in the 90s when I was 30 and had an amazing first experience but ended up going back to my normal job instead and not starting properly (albeit very part time) until I was 45. That's the only thing I would change.

If I found myself in the same situation, widowed in my early, thirties then yes. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Obviously not being widowed would be my first choice.

Tantric Tease I feel the same as you. I would have studied and become skilled at something and built a career. I'm into psychology and true crime and would have loved a job in that field, but if not, something else.
I've kept this job a secret for a long time and it's made me quite isolated and has messed my head up too living a double life.
So if I could go back, I wouldn't have got into escorting. I now have nothing to fall back on and am very worried about my future.

I think prostitution, for me was the best of a bunch of shit options. I just wish I'd asserted myself more sooner, put up more boundaries with who I would and wouldn't see, and I wish I could get back some of those 50%s I gave to some greedy ass Madames who still let guys into their brothels who were obviously diseased, dirty, hit the women, and stealthed. I wish I went indie sooner, basically.

The majority of madams and brothel owners aren’t exactly nice people are they, it’s so damn wrong to make money off of people sleeping with other people and if you were going to do it then the least you would expect is that they would make sure you don’t have to put up with crap but they don’t give a shit and the brothels I worked in where you would get a quite nice boss then it was dead which speaks volumes about some of the clients that frequent these places.

Yes and no, I learned some valuable information from brothels that I never would’ve known about going straight to indie, we have this site but nothing beats the girls being there in front of you to lend you advice etc etc.

I think a lot depends on how you've worked. I've always been indie and never felt any pressure to do anything I didn't want to do, see men I didn't want to see etc., so while I've obviously had a few unpleasant bookings like everyone else, otherwise it's been mostly enjoyable.

It was a bit of a conundrum for me because I wouldn't have been confident to start sex work as an indie I don't think (but I was 18 when I started) so brothels were an entry in that felt safe. But looking back I could have gone indie and done a lot of internet research such as on this forum but then again I didn't own a personal computer until after I started sex work, so. There is so much more available information these days.

I don't know, I'm one of these people who think "if things didn't happen in the order they did, would I be where I am now with the people I have now?"
If it were based purely on financial and freedom, I definitely would have. But if I did, I would never have had my son, never would have had a nutcase ex to break away from, wpuld never have moved home to a completely new area and would never have met my current partner, who is the absolute love of my life and most perfect person for me. I am now very happy with my kids and my partner. None of thay would have happened if I started in this industry earlier in life.
So y'know, that's how I view things!

Nope, I’d rather build a lucrative career instead. I started whoring only due to circumstances which put my career years back to square one. It was definitely a financial boost though which will help me start over and start training as well as investing. So can leave it if I want to and still make good living.

TT, please consider taking a class or two and follow your desires. The worst that can happen is you really like learning and continue working towards a great goal. Our career gives us flexibility to study and take classes, plus many unis offer online courses now. Not as interesting as going to class with others, but hopefully things get better by the time the more interesting classes begin. I went to school while working (long story) and it was really great to have intellectual stimulation, learn with others, and fulfill a life goal. Escorting will always be there for you, but no time like now to start a goal.

I love the honesty too. What made you want to do sex work (or even think about it) when you were little? It never crossed my mind until I started in my late teens, which still surprises me if I think about it now.
