Haha at least you're not blue like me (being from Scotland and cold)! rrrrroll on the summer so we can all look better naturally.

I have actually given up on foundation at the moment.  It seems to make me look older.  Even the last few times i've been on a night out I have just used Touche Eclat under my eyes and maybe round my nose and then just used bronzer (Bourjois Dore is a good one, very natural when it's on and you don't need much, except if you're blue)  instead of foundation and then some pink blusher as pink is supposed to make you look more youthful.  Yes less is more is definetely becoming my mantra.  Who knew?!!

The thing about this job is it teaches you to put it on quick! ie the clients half an hour early(grrrrrr.) or before the bus sets off again from the traffic lights. No messing about.  ;)

An update - Benefit waterproof eyeliner is not waterproof!
Within an hour I had smudges under my eyes.
Back to the drawing board.
On the plus side - Loreal Matte Morphose (who in hell names these things?) is a good foundation. Get the right shade for you and it's got a good coverage. It's even and does not make you look caked up in the stuff.

Just looked at this topic again (was busy when I posted my last reply) and here are some recommendations:
What foundation gives coverage and does not block pores?  I have run out!

Clinique foundation is great coverage, and all the formulations are good, just make sure you choose the right one for your skin type (the sales assistants can help you with this)

Also I recommend putting liquid foundations on with a spackling brush (can be bought from Boots or MAC) -they give an airbrushed look and are really easy to use. Also always use a primer, the best foundation primer is Smashbox Photofinish Primer in the original formula, it will honestly change your life! (You can buy it from Debenhams website or QVC.

There is a fantastic product called Primer Potion by Urban Decay and it basically stops your eye make up moving. The best gel eyeliner out there is by Bobbi Brown (much better than Mac Fluid Line), looks amazing and won't move, and if you are looking for a product for your waterline try smashbox's jet set eyeliner. It is pretty much the only thing that stays put on the waterline.

In regards to mineral make up, most brands do it now, and bare essentials is supposed to be brilliant. I just can't be doing with loose powder though, I always spill it! If you are going to get mineral make up, apply using a kabuki brush so that you can buff it into the skin properly.

The best concealer for under eyes is touche eclat by YSL, but its not great for blemishes or scarring. MAC's studio fix concealer is also good for the odd spot etc.

I even thought of having semi-permanent eyeliner done at a staggering cost of 350.00! That is what put me off! The cost of it and the fact you can not go in a swimming pool for 6 weeks after having it done, so the woman told me.

I have had the semi permanent eyeliner, eyebrow & lips. I know it was expensive but it does look fantastic!! I only need a bit of blusher & mascara & use lip gloss more than anything. I wasn't told about not going swimming tho' so that did puzzle me. A lady called Karen Betts did mine her website is professional@karenbetts I think.

I also use tinted moisturiser instead of foundation & mix my own bronzing pearls  with pearl highlighters so I'm not bronzed but nicely coloured with pearly bits!!! If you know what I mean.

Take the plunge & go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

Ohhh, brilliant stuff, thanks for finding the thread and taking the time to reply sexy!

I have no idea why I was told to not go into the water after having the semi-permanent stuff on, perhaps chlorine would fade it? Who knows. Just, do not go into the water was like a Jaws moment - terrifying for a swimmer!
Once I am past 12 lengths and the pain barrier in the pool, I can just go on and on and on - it's very therapeutic and something I won't give up for the sake of eyeliner...
I was in the pool the other day when all these oldies arrived and started doing water aerobics to Elvis in the frolicking side of the pool while I swam back and fore in the 'serious swimmer lane'  It was the best 40 minutes ever, all that Hunk a hunk of burning love and oldies giggling....
