It’s on now is anyone else watching it?

Main character about to start sex working indoors.
They tried to bury us... they didn't know we were seeds.

I recorded it so will watch it tonight.

Bet it portrays her as the most marginalised human being, the usual drama!

My conclusion was that she should have gone straight to sex work instead of borrowing money of  that psycho/loan shark neighbour.

I think a lot of people wouldn’t even consider sex work due to the stigma it still has, I know a lot of my friends/family would rather get a Provident loan

Same here. Also wondered why her mate went back to cleaning. Then again, they made cleaning the big look a better option what with the standard sad music during the sex work scenes and all.

Sex work is being portrayed as this last resort, botton of he barrel  thing women fall when they have no other option. Clearly prostitute=victim. Just what we needed with the nordic model breathing down our necks. ???

Watching it now wish sex work isn’t always portrayed negatively. Like I’m seen on a few dramas single mums doing it for their kids but not wanting to

Anyone know a production company ? We could do this ourselves since no one seems to want to out there, haha! Imagine they actually showed it from our sides of the story? I’d watch that and rewatch that.
I can’t bring myself to watch yet another ‘drama’ where they portray this time old profession as a ‘last resort’ ‘dirty’ ‘bottom of the barrel’ type thing. It’s infuriating and just sad tbh.  >:( :(

Would those same people consider sex work if it were not stigmatised? Meaning: would they not choose it as an option because "Oh what would people think"? or because they just don;t fancy having sex with strangers end of? I know quite a few around me feeling completely miserable because they work in a fast food place for minimum wage and hate their job. Doing that was a "last resort". And unlike Kirsty they can't pay back their debts. So far nobody is speaking about banning fast food. Of course they don;t make documentaries/movies about them because there's no sex involve and that's boring.

EXACTLY. No one campaigns for menial jobs to be banned where IMO  people are  truly exploited and payed next to nothing. Boo hoo no ones interested.
 It's hypocrisy pure and simple.

I did just watch this .
I felt quite like crying watching her struggles .
Seemed she was at her wits end to start sex work  and  didn't enjoy one bit of it .
There are far worse jobs than  sex work  yet society see it as the lowest of the low.

The movie did not even show us how she knew where to advertise and start up not saying they have to even say the sites but at least if we was shown her friend telling her how to start up get a phone etc go online. But it skipped to her getting ready for a booking.
I recognised the hotel they filmed in based in w.a.t.f.o.r.d m.e.r.c.u.r.e. hotel.
I think her friend still does it on the side but did not want to say she still in the business.

The neighbour that lent her the cash was acting like a loan shark wasn’t he?! I would never have given him extra because these types of things are meant to be discussed before you accept a loan, this is where it was very unrealistic, she hardly knew the guy and only said hello to him when they were both picking up the kids from school so why on earth wouldn’t you discuss the repayment plan for the loan?! It was a good drama but as usual, then very unrealistic in that way.

I understand where your coming from but having to start sex work when your already feeling so low isn’t nice at all and I can relate to her that way, it took me years to get my head around it but then I didn’t work for myself right away and that made all the difference.
