Hysterectomy Recovery
« on: 10 February 2025, 12:22:09 pm »
Hey lovelies.

After fifteen years of suffering and two years of being on the waiting list for a hysterectomy, I have finally got a date for it at the end of this month. I was wondering how long it will be before I can work afterwards. I've been told that it'll be 6-12 weeks before I'll be able to exercise or do any heavy lifting, so I may stick to camming for a while, I think. Has anyone else on here had a hysterectomy, and if so, how long did it take for you to work again?

Thanks in advance  :-* :-*

My best friend had one recently and she was in quite a lot of pain for the first couple of weeks. After that she only felt discomfort if she did things like walking or cleaning the house. 7 weeks later and she said she feels almost back to normal now but she does get a bit of light bleeding now and again which can be common. Her doctor told her to not attempt sex for 8-12 weeks.
Hope it all goes well for you x

I had one in 2008, I wasn't a working girl at the time but I can relate to the recovery side.

The first thing to say is this will be entirely different if you are keyhole or if you are cut hip to hip, I was cut hip to hip along the bikini line, the recovery on that surgery is longer than keyhole because they have to go through the muscles, although on keyhole they blow you up with a gas to be able to maneuver in there and that can cause it's own issues I'm told.

If you are a hip to hip then my best advice is stand up straight as soon as you can after getting out of bed, straight back,  shoulders back, chin up, don't succumb to what the nurses call the hysterectomy stoop, it won't do you any favours in the long run.

Do not lift, do not make the bed, don't hoover and don't lift, did I say, don't lift? 2 to 3 weeks minimum before you begin to do bits of housework and the like and a full 6 weeks before you drive, if you get behind the wheel before the 6 weeks you can invalidate your insurance.

I would suggest it will be a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks before you feel like going near a man even in the virtual world but we all recover at different rates and it's more about your mental recovery and feeling up for cam work that will set your return,  only you will know, possibly phone chat may be an option as you can sit about in your snuggles with your feet up doing that.

I would just say be kind to yourself,  if you feel tired, sleep, get plenty of rest your body will need it to recover, getting going too soon can make the recovery process much longer, good luck, once it's all done it's absolutely amazing x

I’ve been told it’s a 3 month recovery (as I opted not to have one because I didn’t want to take that length of time off from my job at the time).

I was not doing sex work. It’s a big operation.

Like Miss Wolf said above recovery depends on hysterectomy being key hole or not. My cousin is in her late 50's and got a key hole one, she was able to walk 3 days later, drive two weeks after, do soft pilates 3 weeks after and have sex after 10 weeks. She was really scared and turned out to be easy peasy. Everyone heals different though.
