Ok so I accidently pick up a call from an unknown number. I explain to the guy that he must call to confirm from an identifiable number.
Guess what ........two calls now near the appointment time, from a witheld number, which needless to say, I did not answer.
Jeez I could not have made it clearer than I did - he obviously thought I would just see him anyway, what a dickhead!
Yup I've had this when I used to pick up withhelds and advise to call back showing their number. It actually happened to me the day I had withheld numbers blocked from my phone. He not only wanted a booking, but wanted one especially earlier than usual. I said ok but you'll need to phone at xx time, and display your number because I'm about to put a block on.
Guess he must have thought I was making it up. Following morning, two withheld calls went through to a message advising must phone from displayed number.
Could have been anyone though of course (another reason for not dealing with withhelds!).
Also use to have someone who rang several times asking for details, then would phone on the day at short notice - always withheld. I eventually said "Look if you can't phone and display your number, you are wasting your time I won't even give you an appointment if I've nothing else to do". Must have thought if he phoned and I wasn't booked I'd then relent. Not so I'm not desperate and would rather operate without hassle, minimise danger than make an extra ?130 or whatever.
