I have felt much less sleazy and much more honest being in sex work, compared to MLM. I also feel my clients "see me" as a human (not all of them!) compared to being in a civvy role where I was "a resource".

I decided about 10yrs ago that I didn't give a flying fuck what anyone else thought about me, and that's served me well.
What VC said.

I also believe that negative beliefs about SW are often a symptom of how people think sex when sexual desires cross paths with other beliefs.  Men need us, but some feel guilty about it and don't know how to handle that. When they project their own guilt as negativity toward us, we need to be very careful.    It's more complicated when emotions get involved, possessive feelings appear, etc.

Good, respectful clients are so important, and good clients that need us regularly are my favorite part of this job.  When I focus on the positive and things  I can control, I stay happy.
