You don't need to register your phone for Adultwork - they just send you a text message which you have to verify by typing in the code in it on the site  ???. Some might need allowing for adult content, but that's just a brief phone call AFAIK, and I don't remember having to do that either.

I have two work phones, both Tesco Mobile and one which is used (or rather not used, because it's always off) for Adultwork, and neither of them are registered to anything - one is a 99p SIM I bought on it's own and have never been asked to register anywhere. What did they say, exactly?

To verify that your over 18 /contents lock removed just ring up your provider and tell them you want to have the content lock removed  - content lock is on all phones /simcards so that under 18s cant get access to certain services and networks

Dont feel embarrassed  as   its not just for porn/adult sites  could be  for gambling sites anything that require you to be over 18 ect

they normally verify it by using a credit debit card and taking of  a penny once its verified no problems if your on a contract then just ring them and they will do it straigth away as they will already have your details
02 It can be done all by text and credit card dont even speak to anyone

with regards to registering the sim card  not the  phone in a differnet name rather than yours  yes you can and it a good idea to as well (register the sim card) as if you lose the phone and the sim card  and its not
registered then you wont be able to get a replacement sim card for that number so you will have to change the number on your website to a new number  and everywhere else that you advertise to as well
this will cost you stress and money as it can take a while for the new number to filter through to clients ect

just make up a name / and address  ( just look for a hotel and use its postcode or a block of flats  im currently registered  at harvy nicks cabot circus postcode and street    ;D

but again make sure that you write this down somewhere as well so that you can remember it if you need to ring up and ask for a replacment sim card ect  as they will ask you for it  so it might be worth using your middle name and surname and same date of birth for simplicity
i use my working name Paris  and my surname and own date of birth

also worth putting a pin on the mobile and getting the emi of the phone so if you do lose it your provider can block it totally
again its worth backing up all your phones numbers as well to pc so if you do lose it at least you will have all your number for clients and more importantly all the dick heads and wankers to avoid

As mentioned by Paris, yep, Orange at least in my experience wanted a name, address and date of birth to unlock my phone and verify I was over 18 (which you're right, you need to do to send the verification text back to AW.

I was caught off guard, unlike Paris, and just made up a name and date of birth, giving them an old uni address. Which they accepted happily, so you should easily be able to register under a fake name/address/DOB with Orange, but do write it down in a safe place because I haven't got a blinkin' clue what I told them and now wish I'd written it down :D

;D lol -  yeah definatly write it down and keep it somewhere safe   -   often what i do with important stuff is email it to myself and save the emails  or register on line that way you will always be able to log in and change stuff   but if your crap  at remembering stuff then like i said keep it simple use your middle name and surname or mums name anything really that means you will remember it easily
my friend always used to use her sisters name date of birth and her own address  ect

But if you give them a false name then give them your credit card to take apenny off it , they wil know your name?

Janine, I tried to fit the problem that is turning your post into a huge quote from ParisB, but I'm not sure which text is yours. Could you perhaps edit your post to remove the post tags (anything between [ ]'s) and any text that isn't your own? That way it will be clearer and I don't want your posts to be neglected due to confusion. :)

They don't all ask for debit card verification to prove you are over 18. I only have experience of orange PAYG phone, but all they asked for was my name, address, and DOB (all of which I made up and forgot!)

It is probably worth you finding a PAYG sim card from a network who won't ask you for debit card verification if you want to be sure to hide your identity when registering as over 18- they are out there!
