Has anybody bought this from the US and used it in the UK? Is it safe/ will I destroy it by using a UK voltage on it when it was designed for US use. I know there are alternatives but I'm really curious about this one?
-
Why don't you just buy another one from the amazon uk web site? It will have the correct electrical hookup [link removed - please don't post these here].

Depends on the voltage of this particular wand you want, if it's 110v only (I've seen some that are bi volt) you can't use it here without a voltage converter. As a rule, voltage goes like this: you can't plug a 110v appliance on a 240v socket or it blows up, but you can plug a 240v appliance on a 110v socket it just won't work with it's full power (wand won't be as powerful, blow dryer won't be as hot etc).

If it's a genuine one, then you need a voltage adapter or you risk damage to it and you. Unless you get something that changes the frequency of the electric supply to 60Hz from our 50Hz, it will vibrate at a different frequency that some people find less effective. The combination is why they're not officially sold here.
Chinese clones are often dual voltage. I am not sure about the frequency issue, but some at least allow more control than the original.

I have had these in the past and now use love honey deluxe magic wand. Its just as good if not better !

Hitachi plug in wand s are rubbish, Lelo do amazing ones that are cordless and just need charging so you dont even need batteries.
-
Thank you guys!
I have gotten a replica but I'm worried the vibrations won't be as strong.
This is probably a silly question but how do I figure what voltage runs through my electricity so I can get the correct transformer? The hitachi wand that I want is the cordless HV270 and uses 120volts and is powered by a 17 watt motor?
I wish love honey had a physical store that I could try out/ if I don't like the wand would they let me return it. I know the doxy is meant to be an alternative but I read somewhere that it doesn't have as strong vibrations as the hitachi? and I was looking at the lelo. I was thinking of buying both

Does it have to be a Hitachi one? If they're awkward to get or use then why not just get a UK one like the one mentioned above - I would be amazed if punters even noticed and even more amazed if any turned out to be vibrator snobs :).

Yes, they may not be.
The Amazon link someone posted before it was removed was to the Chinese clones that come up if you search there. As a look at the reviews shows, they're extremely variable.

Oh, they've done a cordless version? That should be easy to find an adaptor for: what's important is the size of the plug that fits into the vibrator when you charge it and its voltage. Just take the supplied adaptor to somewhere like Maplin - you won't need to take the vibrator - and say you want a UK equivalent. It's just like getting a local version of a mobile / cordless whatever charger.

Love Honey have an excellent (and unique?) policy regarding returns: anything for up to a year, even if used.
It's your money :)

I can't recommend Lovehoney enough. Fantastic customer service.

They relaunched the official Hitachi Magic Wand fairly recently, and there is a UK supplier who I assume make them for the UK market and so they'll be safe for our power outlets check out magicwandoriginal. co .uk
I have an original Hitachi and it has a power adapter, I also have a Doxy from LoveHoney which also plugs in and the Lelo Smart Wand which runs on rechargeable batteries, and has an excellent feature where it only spins up to full vibration when it's touching skin, so you can leave it on the bed and it doesn't make a racket! I think I prefer the Lelo to the others!

I'm not actually a big fan of them (wands), but I've got a LoveHoney wand and it's pretty powerful. Echo the others about their customer service, too.

Thank you guys! I'll get it and see and thank you for the maplin tip xw5!
And lool amy you're right, clients don't care but it's more for myself than them as I will be using it personally and professionally (and on my back as well).
I fully intend to get a lelo one as well as i think the hitachi is too big for actual insertion and i will also be filming videos/taking pictures/camming/ using them with clients so i need a bit of variety.
Just an escort is that site legitimate because i saw it but I was too scared to buy anything from it? I'm literally getting someone to buy it from walmart in america and ship it to me. I didn't even trust amazon on this.

Yeah, it is the official UK site for what has now been rebranded "Magic Wand Original" to remove all reference to Hitachi as they tried to discontinue the wand in 2013 and a sex toy company managed to convince them to continue it as it's so popular. Just checked the site again myself, and they are selling US ones with a UK voltage adaptor included. The US site is magicwandoriginal .com and they have a section on their site about spotting fakes.

I am a complete wand aholic. I have the lelo one and although it's beautiful it's not as deep a vibration as the Hitachi... The doxy has more vibration but is not as deep rumbling type vibrations... It actually ends up hurting me down there! It's more like a traditional vibe feeling
I never use it. The love honey deluxe one thats mains powered and around 50 quid is by sat the closest. I think i even prefer it over my beloved Hitachi.

So funny story about the replica hitachi wand that I bought.
I got it off amazon and it was 30 or so pounds (so not the cheapest copycat but still relatively cheap). It was a cordless one so I plugged it in to charge it as I had a quick nap. (I stupid put it on my bed as I thought i would have a short nap) And Lo and behold the bloody thing EXPLODED and then caught on fire!
I only woke up because the smoke alarm in my house went off and my housemates were running around trying to find the source of the fire. I had a bunch of cables near it that it nearly ruined and i dread to think what would have happened if i hadn't woke up as I was in that bed.
In addition i then had the lovely job of explaining to my housemates (who by the way I don't really know) and my landlord as they all gathered outside my room that something i bought too masturbate with caught fire. :FF :FF :FF :FF Fun stuff!
