Is there a reason you cant tour after you finish your reg job one week and begin the next week. Do  you work three straight days or are the days scattered over the week?

Touring for long periods of time is not always the best.  I found that shorter tours were more profitable

We can't really tell you what your boss will believe. If you can fake a hospital letter say you're going in for tests or a family member is sick or something.

Sorry OP, but unless I've misunderstood you're 'skiving' from your normal job to go touring? Can't you take holiday or unpaid leave or something? Isn't it a bit risky?
