Teeth - Toothpaste and Whitening
« on: 07 April 2010, 03:49:12 pm »
I'd like to give my teeth a makeover. They're straight and not crowded but smoking/tea/coffee/red wine have all taken their toll on my knashers. I've had a clean and polish but would like them to be shiny and really white.
Would anybody recommend firstly a really good whitening toothpaste? Secondly teeth bleaching or even vaneers. This is what too much time on your hands does to you people.....beware!

Love Pink x

As someone who has too much time on their hands - try crest  whitestrips they are a bleaching type stip I think you use them for 30mins a day for two weeks.

If youre feeling flush, your dentist can make moulds that you fill up with bleach and sleep in. It costs about ?250.
But you can get the refils on Ebay for a dazzling smile!  ;D

I agree with Wm3200 - crest whitestrips are an absolute godsend, and comparatively quite cheap - the strongest ones are ?50. I used the medium strength ones, and the difference in colour was amazing. Everyone kept commenting on the whiteness!

Putting the strips on every night's  hassle though.

The first step would be to cease smoking and drinking coffee TODAY if possible.
Tea and Wine are fine...but everythign else will be a cover up.

Sorry, only got round to reading this post now.

I have very sensitive teeth and am scared of using the whitening (bleaching) products, but I regularly use Beverly Hills Whitening Tooth Paste for sensitive teeth and it does help a little, though don't expect a dazzling white.

OOh my favourite topic. According to my dentist my teeth are the whitest natural teeth can be, woop!

2 good tips
1. Whitening kits- buy for about ?15 - 20 from Superdrug THEN go and have a sunbed with one in, it accelerates the whitening and about 2 gos will give you a great smile. Leave them in slightly longer than it says on the packet.
2. Don't give up coffee or wine, sip them through a straw. Yes it makes you look like a twat, but the pigment won't make any contact with your front teeth. Score!

Will post more tips as I remember them. But the kit from Super drug is brilliant, has a mouth tray, whitener, and accelerator and lasts ages.
