I have the opposite problem to you, Adamas, in that my hair is very curly and takes bloody ages to straighten- and isn't actually straight when it's done- and chemical relaxers were just a disaster, so I never bother. I'm considering wigs, I don't know whether to go for the red headed Rihanna look (the straight look, rather than the long 'fro which I have naturally anyway) or the Nicki Minaj/Lady Gaga look. I could rock both, I suppose.

I know that particular shade of red suits me as I've died it that colour in the past, but trying to work out what shade of blonde to go for is a pain. I'm having to wade through lots of stuff about "cool" and "warm" skin tones, spring and autumn skin tones etc, but have settled for a honey blonde.

A friend of mine takes to wearing weaves when she wants a change; synthetic hair holds the curl much better than natural, but you have to make sure you're getting good quality stuff and it doesn't last as long as natural hair, and you'll need to have some hair of your own to attach it to in the first place. The upside though is it can't be pulled off like a wig and won't slide about.

My hair colour varies from red to blonde and every shade in between. My last photoshoot before Christmas shows dark red hair, but it is now a bit lighter with highlights. I just had a client who wants to make a 2 day booking (waiting for deposit this week so might not be gen). His last email asked if my hair could be blonde for our date!  :o

Loulou

I leave half of my own hair down (as it's bra strap length anyway ) and clip the glam hair to my half head pony so the two mix together, so if hair not clean it won't really show!

I stick to one or two styles since my hair is long and thick, also guys love the colour and length so silly to tie it all all. I simply clip the front section back so it's off my face. Occasionally I will clip it all up at the back, but that is very rare. I also never use heated appliances, since in my opinion they cause damage - plus mine goes frizzy if you try to use even the gentlest hair dryer.

I'm a wash, clip and go girl and that's it. I wouldn't apply colour or heat for a specific booking, I like to keep my hair in good condition. Not to mention other clients who could be a little upset when he turns up to find your hair is not the colour/type in your photos.

I've only ever used fancy dress wigs, but with those I use a stocking to cover my hair and then 20+ hair grips through everything. That holds it quite well but it's still worth positioning it a bit lower than I want it to allow for movement.

The whole thing is a bit of a pain though (especially getting it off) and I wouldn't want to do it whenever I went on cam.

Ooooh thanks for the hair-pins tip. I will try that to stop it from sliding back and making me look dome-headed with multi-coloured hair. Might see if just a couple of pins would do the job to reduce the time consuming aspect. I would have got fancy-dress ones too if it was just webcam but I need it to look as natural as possible for real life bookings.

I generally work in "blocks" of 5-8 hours a day, so I just put it on at the start of work and off when I'm going home. I'd be driven crazy if I had to keep putting it on and taking it off all day though!

I'd be using lots of grips for real life meetings (unless just massage) and can't imagine how you've managed without any, but actually yes a couple should be fine for webcamming. When I wear wigs I'm liable to really test the grip (riding a bike, upside down pole tricks), so I need to know that it'll stay put whatever happens.

Oh and for me I think the stocking is necessary to keep the wig in place (I don't know if you're using one), but I have slippery hair so it's probably not essential for everyone.

Oh yeah, forgot you'd mentioned wig caps.

I haven't done cam in a while, but maybe I should bring out the wigs if I feel up to it but the weather's a bit cool. They're great for keeping warm :). That's the main reason I wore one on the naked bike ride.
