Left the sauna!
« on: 09 October 2012, 04:52:33 pm »
Pleased to say for all of you who have been replying to and following my posts that I have now left the sauna.

It is a huge weight off my shoulders, and now I can breathe a sigh of relief that no longer will I have to put up with:

-A dirty environment. Despite there being "night watchmen" who were paid to clean, the facilities were disgusting. The glasses and plates were never washed properly, just a quick rinse under the tap and put away again. Yuck. And the floor was always filthy. Plus there was the fact that girls were allowed to smoke in the lounge. Being a non smoker, it's awful as I hate my clothes and hair smelling of it coming off a shift.

-Sexual harassment or being bossed and ordered around by the pervert owner. I used to dread going to book in for a shift as the perv would start trying to fondle my breasts, touch me and kiss me. And he stunk of fish and was a smelly old git.

-Verbal harassment from same owner. I was regularly told I had "put on the beef" (I'm a size 10) and am "fat around the face". I was also made fun of by him when it came down to being on my period. He used to sniff and say things like "Oh Lolita, you stink of fish, close your legs". PIG.

-Horrid clientele. They were the sort who were ridden with STIs (always took great care), drunk and rude, and I even had one perv of an old man try and touch me up in the lounge and make comments about my breasts again. He then would ask disgusting questions about BB. Clients would generally push boundaries in the room.

-Bitchy girls. Well, on the whole, the girls were ok, but there was one who thought she was little Miss Sunshine and amazing cos she got all the bookings. This was the same bitch who bragged about it to me and made fun of me.

-Stupid hours, and being made to work days I didnt want to, or couldnt work. At least with the agency, I can get on with other things such as my uni work whilst waiting for a booking, from the comfort of my own place.

-The risk of the police coming in if someone died/ licensing police. Because of my degree, I cant afford to get involved with the police whatsoever. Even though the police would only need to question me, it was too risky as some of the girls may overhear my details and then try and "find out" more about me.

So pleased to be out. I am gonna stick with what I am doing now and start my indie work soon :)

I am so pleased you took everyones advice in the way it was meant and got out of there.  No woman should ever have to put up with that type of behaviour from their so called 'boss'

GHoing Indie is was of the best things anyone can do as you will find you enjoy the work more being able to pick and choose when you work and who you see.

Enjoy being an Indie and again I am so pleased for you

Hugs

Thanks everyone. I guess the main concern I have with being an indie the huge risk of timewasters and danger. People not showing, or just out to waste my time. And if I work from my flat (need to be totally discreet), that there would be the odd one who would show up without an appointment  :o

touch wood, never happened to me, so i wouldnt worry there.

timewasters happen, its not a biggie and again, touch wood, iv experienced nothing dangerous being indie. iv had a couple of boundry pushers but you gotta be firm and kick them out!

a can of mace and a personal alarm by the bed is a good tip, and maybe even cctv??

A can of mace (or any similar substance) is about as bad an idea as it's possible to get, given that it could get you prosecuted under the Firearms Act. You may as well go the whole hog and stick a handgun under the mattress, and like any other weapon, they're far more likely to be taken and used on you.

I have had only one do that. I do not ever open the door without looking through the hole and yelling "who is it?"

when he pretended to be a survey person and I couldn't see in the half dark, I cracked open the door and I saw it was a punter I had here once. I said "no fucking way. fuck right off and I'm never seeing you again - don't ever come back here." and slammed it. He left immediately.

Good to know your decision...
I totally understand as I decided to work for a sauna in order to know new clients..
Anyway, after 3 months I left the place for several reasons..
In first place, no-one used to care the the premises, sometime I founds traces of sperm of previous clients left on the the beds. It was disgusting because if no-one cares such a things, try to imagine the rest of stuff in what condition could be.

Since I work on my own place, I have always my room in a good condition and very cozy

I think girls who work from their homes are very brave.
My neighbours are far too nosey, I would hate for punters to turn up unannounced and I like to keep this work completely separate from my 'private' life.
Starting with outcalls, as already suggested, is a good place to start.
I try to limit my outcalls to hotels only, especially if I'm on tour. I just feel safer doing this and now I've started touring with other WG if going to an area I don't know well.
For incalls, I advance book hotel rooms, often at great rates for upmarket hotels, and have a regular room booked locally at a budget hotel.
By being friendly with the reception staff at the budget hotel I was able to build up an excellent cover story, and they always give me the same room, etc., and don't bat an eyelid when my ''colleagues'' visit.
Anyway, good luck.

Good decision leaving the sauna. You'll be fine being indie and you'll enjoy it I'm sure.
