Hiya, I'm due a check up but because I don't really work in my hone town anymore Im finding it difficult to get there.
However I've taken this week off because I've had loads of appointments/interviews and thought I would get tested....only to come on my period Monday!! Tuesday would have been better!! Grrrrr
Any one know if I can still get tested?? I've checked the website but it doesn't say anything

I used to work in a GUM clinic and I can tell you that being on your period makes no difference to the results.

It would only be for your comfort if you are having a full exam that they might mention it, but if it's just a sample and some swabs then it's all dandy

A friend of mine was refused a full examination because she was on her period - I think that was just a one off bad doctor though as I've had full examinations at the same clinic while on a couple of times, when I had my IUD it was unavoidable as I had some bleeding pretty much all the time.
