The Street (BBC1)
« on: 21 July 2009, 08:08:22 am »
Did any9ne else watch The Street last night with Anna Friel palying a single mum of two who prossies at the weekend in a parlour (DIY store in the week) to be able to get her children into a good school?

An excellent portrayal of how many girls operate. No drug habit or Belle de Journess in sight, just a good mum doing what she can to get her boys a good education.

The social fall out/hypocrisy was pretty accurate too when her new boyfriend's dad turns out to be a client.

Very good drama, as expected from Jimmy McGovern.

I iPlayer-ed it this morning - do not watch before breakfast or you'll have some super-early murderous thoughts towards that boyfriend's dad. And morning murder is not a good preparation for the day!

Maybe I should stop listening to death metal first thing in the morning then!

Watched it, brilliant.  Very honest story of a single working mum trying to make ends meet.  Thought it was great that the boyfriends mum was so understanding, and didnt judge her at all.
