The Price: My Rise and Fall As Natalia, New York's #1 Escort
Working Girl; My 20 Years in the Business by Eliana
and of course Madam - Prostitutes, Punters and Puppets by Madam Becky

don't know whether these were the type you were looking for but all great book to do with escorting/sex industry. especially Madam Beckys!

Given that the latter has only ever been a pimp and not a prostitute, I think I'll agree to differ with you on that one.

Still thought it was a great read and a great insight into how parlours work and just a general insight into the sex industry ... if we all agreed on things we would live in a pretty boring world wouldn't we :) xo

It certainly would (and I'm saying that as somebody who never reads work-related books anyway, bar a few research titles I've got kicking around). I'd just urge anybody who did want to to read it to get it out from the library :).

There are a few ?industry? books I read out of curiosity but it struck me that many were really badly written.  By far the worst was by someone called Bea.  Luckily, I had picked the book up just to have a read while staying somewhere.  I gave up after the second page.  I would have really resented paying for that.  I?ll give Madam Becky?s oeuvre a miss too, not so much because it irks me that she only ever worked as a madam without ever knowing the business first-hand yet proclaiming to be an expert but because a lot of her anecdotes have been ?harvested? by snooping on various industry boards and rehashing funny stories as her own.  To me it feels like not only has she earned of the ladies? sex work but then also ripped off their experiences too.

Hi

Are there any books you would recommend as interesting or just funny relating to escorting/sexual biographies by women/erotic literature etc

Mine are:
Eleven Minutes - Paulo Coehlo
(I love him as an author and the book shows a rather difficult side of escorting/trafficing but I think is beautiful nonetheless).

The Sexual Life of Catherine M - Catherine Millet
(True memoirs of a Parisian art critic who has a rather liberated sex life).

The Story of O - Pauline Reage
(an absoulte classic, reading it at 17 may have had something to do with my rather unorthodox approach to sex!).

There are loads I still want to read, and found a load of Anais Nin and Henry Miller on a pavement which I cant wait to get into.

Jemma x

Mmm discovered The Story of O in a majorcan bookstore when I was rather younger than 17..and read it by the pool every day in front of my parents feeling very naughty. That book is the reason Im pretty unshockable I think  :o

Hello everyone

I was wondering if I could please ask for some assistance in the form of a pointer in the right direction.

I've been reading extensively through the forums over the last few days and saw an interesting thread somewhere where ladies were discussing and recommending some useful books relating to sex work. I'm a bit of a bookworm and am considering ordering a couple of them from Amazon but can't for the life of me remember where it was I saw them mentioned. Please could anyone kindly advise?

Thank you x

Thank you ladies for the suggestions  :)

Hi Iora and Daria00

I had a look at your suggestions and they look promising, I ordered a couple and another two are on my shopping list. Thanks again x

P.S. Not sure if I can actually display any of these on my coffee table or bookcase as the family are bound to wonder about my choice of reading material! lol
