I quit around the time that Joey still tried to insist that not having a gym membership was as hazardous to health as not using condoms. Obesity is directly related to people not visiting the gym apparently, who knew? Here was me thinking it was usually a mix of overeating the wrong foods and a general lack of physical exercise and activity that can take many other forms aside from pounding away on a treadmill! By this philosophy i should be overweight as i have never been in a gym in my life!

Well, in America there is even more fat-phobia than here. It's an even more emotive, complex matter in the States, with issues ranging from the government funding of produce that has been found to contribute heavily to obesity and illness, to race issues, to health care issues, education issues and so on forever. Oh wait - I don't know anything about America so never mind! :P

Oops  i said i had quit and here i am back again. I will try and go graciously now.

Me, too. I'm a bit embarrassed for getting all grumpy earlier but being patronised makes me want to kick something. But there are no real hard feelings meant, and at the end of the day I've partly forgotten what the point of this thread is already so it's obviously not the be-all and end-all - hopefully we can all move on! :)

Joey, if you're going to try and be condescending it helps an awful lot if you are in a position from which to condescend.

No one here is your 'dear' or your 'sweetheart' - either you've got yourself worked up into some ridiculous belief that you are suddenly some pithy, erudite tour-de-force or you've mistaken the forum for the Jerry Springer show; either way it stops now - disagreeing with others and expressing an opposing view is one thing, but if you want to indulge in this risible, queeny shrieking save it for the PMs, where you and your countryfolk can smugly pat yourselves on the back, sneer and perpetuate your apparent belief that none of us have any idea what we're talking about to your hearts content. As far as the board goes though, enough is enough.

I'm not getting into the rest of the preposterous crap and I suggest other ladies do likewise, much as the generations of human beings before us did when like me, Simone and everybody I know, they inexplicably managed to survive a few thousand years without ever seeing the inside of a gymnasium. Oh and Joey, if you are going to look down your nose and pompously accuse others of being naive, it might help if you learnt how to spell the word first.

Any more of the same and your threads are getting merged into one enormous Sticky entitled 'Joey's Ranting Crap', or similar. You have been warned.

Me, too. I'm a bit embarrassed for getting all grumpy earlier but being patronised makes me want to kick something. Very wise. I was tempted to lock this but others may yet feel they have something to contribute. Any more toy-throwing, however, and off it goes.

Once again, Amy cracks the whip (whippish!--your fangs are awfully sharp, when they come out...). Not that she's wrong in any circumstance.  I'm just going to throw my 2 cents in, and get to being productive on this rainy day. I've lurked and/or participated in many threads on saafe and genuinely love you all. But I think etiquette (in any situation) is needed. Attitudes are easily felt online people. I repeat. Attitudes are easily felt online.

BECAUSE WERE ONLINE!  We're tossing words out, forgetting tone isn't present, so an innocent sentence can be taken as the opposite.

Technically we are are all words apart, no matter how near or far we are. But the point of this forum is community. The occasional sass happens. Yes, of course. But as more of an onlooker I would have to say Joey it isn't fair to use the forum as a proverbial punching bag. Everyone is here to support you, and they don't even know you- aside from what tidbits you provide. Being obtuse isn't exactly the way to gain support.  Or any thread replies!

The fact is -whether you like it or not- you do tend to utter conflicting statements on a regular basis. If you can live off your current income, no, you wouldn't be late on rent or have to think of ways to cut back. Being able to live off your income means you can support yourself and satisfy bills, and have some sort of expendable income (money to burn) as well as tuck a few dollars away.  Thats the fact. Whether you like it or not. You can't say I don't understand what you're going through because I absolutely do. I'm American and know what comes along with that, and working here. I bounce between 2 completely different markets and one is incredibly hard to get clients to spend over $100-200 the other 200 is nothing to most, and 300-400 is doable, with the right practices. Simply stated, you wouldn't complain about not having it, if you had it.

When sh*t isn't working. You do something else.  "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

on another note obesity like Emily said has MANY factors. Our government is ALOT to blame. As with most things is America, money rules all and the piece of shite FDA passes the most atrocious food products, knowing they lead to all forms of illness/disease, obesity and god only know what else. Now, being someone who has had to figure out ways to better survive in this fucktard of a world, one the things I can't give up is my organic eating. I try to eat at LEAST 75% clean, which cuts into my budget but you don't hear my bitching. Thats my choice. Sure itd be better to not spend however much at Whole Foods/Trader Joes, and hit up a $5 meal at Wendys or McDonalds but my health is essential and I make up for it by cutting down in other places. Like shopping  :'( . Sigh.

Please realize J, if several people are saying the same things....maybe, just maybe they might be onto something. Open your mind up a wee bit.

And i'm off...

Ahhh, I sort of forgot about this thread...being all worked up in the others.

But I do have to say, if we are all going to behave perfectly...then that should also mean no

Doesn't necessarily sound like the most welcoming place...but, I wont say a word  :-X

Anyhow, I'll consider all the advice taken here. Im sure you all do want to help out. Sometimes, its a bit hard to focus when things just seem to make no sense at all. Its just that...I really dont know what other job I could look into in addition to this. It seems pretty hard as it is to find stuff, and plus...I've had some really bad job experiences (which I have repeatadly told people on this forum about) throughout a LIFETIME of working, and Im in no rush to jump back into a 9-5.

I would rather jump ship to a new town where I can do a mix of massage and escorting and make descent money and have some to set aside. At this point in my life, I dont want it any other way. I dont want to work in a lousy entry-level job again. I did that for years and never succeded in any of them longer than a few months....

Kiss and makeup joey? I'm sorry if my advice pissed you off. I only meant it to be friendly and helpful and I'm sorry if I said things that were totally out of context.
Its just because I know nothing about your circumstances so I didn't realise that possibly giving up your car etc would be a nightmare for you because you cover such a huge area x

Absolutely  :-*

Yes...it would be hell to not have a car here. Imagine standing out on a street corner for 15-30 minutes waiting for a bus, with no other human beings walking by, just cars and trucks. And then add 95 degree heat with 80% humidity with the sun beaming down above you relentlessly and what do you have? Hell.

And imagine trying to get to an outcall booking downtown at 9 pm. Waiting out in the middle of the street (again, for a bus) at night, for 15-30 minutes. And then add the way back...which can easily be a $20 cab ride from where I live or...waiting all night for a bus that may never come. Scary isn't it?

And am I also supposed to run in this 95 degree heat once I cancel my gym membership? Its just not worth it, and Im glad that you are undertsanding of it.

Woohoo!
Someone got fed up with your hissy fits and it wasn't me ;D

Says it all...

...but that's not why I'm joining this thread and in the knowledge that my comment will be thrown back at me with contempt:

Isn't jumping ship to a new town what you have been doing to solve your problems everytime, at least since you joined SAAFE - and by the looks of it it hasn't worked out too well for you, because your gripes are still the same, so maybe it's time to (as Mary said) open your mind and try to take some of the other ladies advice?

Ok, I'm off to the bathroom to clean the toilet with my toothbrush for not being able to keep my trap shut!  :-[ :(

yeah, and be sure to brush afterwards  ::)

Anyhow...I dont consider all the cities I've gone to, to be great choices; except for the last one I went to this past month which FYI...I did very well and shopped, paid hotels and paid bills...while I was out of town! Its kind of taken me some time to figure out which cities to go to, which ones not to. I used to go to the most popular cities, and end up running into a shitload of competition. Took me a awhile to figure that out! Chicago is bad all around from what I heard, and the local cities within 4 hours distance from me aren't all that great either.

Maybe you never been to the U.S. (and yes, I will continue to repeat this...) but if you havent been here, then you dont know what cities are good and aren't for me. You're an Asian woman, Im a Black guy. The places I work would be totally different from where you would work and vice versa. So leave the smart alec comments to yourself because obviously we see totally different clients. Dont criticize me on the steps I take to better myself and reach other clients.

If you think that me, as a Black guy cant make enough money thru escorting to support myself...then you're wrong. I knew of a guy several years back who escorted in Miami and New York and he was very well off. And we had similar features and shared the same client.

What does that have to do with this? It has to do with yees, it is possible and me mentioning moving to a new city is not a crazy idea. There are 50 states in the US and I've only been able to work in half-a-dozen of them. Meaning, there must still be a few dozen out there left to work in....but it takes time, money, and planning. 2 years is really not a long time to explore 50 states and all their cities. So why dont you give me a break, and instead of being mean...consider the fact that Im actually doing something about my situation, and on my last tour...I did very well...I had to leave the state in order to do it!

I bet you wouldn't have the GUTS to hop up on a 18 hour trip across the country with spotty cellphone signal driving to a city you never been to! I have ambition, and I refuse to allow you to ruin that for me. I tooka major risk traveling to that city, and Im glad I did instead of listen to naysayers like yourself who'd probably have talked me out of it.

But don?t you EVER DARE tell me what I have the guts for and haven?t ? you don?t know what I have done in my life, where I have been and what situations I have had to deal with, voluntarily and unvoluntarily.
I have taken a two year trip working (non-escorting) my way around Eurasia, just me and my rucksack and ended up having to fend for myself cut off from friends and family in a country who?s language I didn?t speak.

Just because people don?t make a public drama out of their lives doesn?t mean they haven?t done and experienced things.

Yeah, ok, everyone stop poking Joey (until the next mess anyway) and Joey stop acting like people posting on a message board are trying to run your life. I don't like locking threads, so everyone butt out unless you've got something new and constructive to add.

I have taken a two year trip working (non-escorting)

If its not related to escorting, it means nothing to the topic. It was a non-escorting working trip on your end which probably guaranteed payment. In my case (leading back around to the subject of your believing my traveling to be in vain), it was for this line of work, which does not gurantee payment and involves working off ads...meaning, with my own power I had to be doing something right to have made it there, stayed there, and made it back.

Im simply defending myself from your comment re: jumping ship and getting nothing in return, which is absurb. And I've just pointed out how and why that is absurb and that it actually IS city-dependent and not an issue with ME as a person. Which I find to be quite suggestive of being sexist (indicating gay male escorts cant support themselves). You may not have said that verbatim, but its very well construed that way.

Im not trying to create an argument. Im just responding. Please do not feel offended, and thankyou Anika for allowing us to discuss this topic...

Anika, might be best to delete the posts starting from the first response I made, I really should have known better to believe Joey would take anything in that doesn't agree with his thinking and this is just too stupid.

Thanks

Joey - I did things such as workiong on farms and restaurant kitchens and I had to search for a job in each country to earn the money for the next leg of travel
