Coming Off Depo Injection
« on: 01 April 2020, 08:49:04 am »
I've been thinking about this for a while but I'm scared to as I've been on this injection for as long as I've been doing this job. It (mostly) has stopped my periods which has been great, number ONE reason I'm on it, but when I had my first injection I bled and bled for about a month or so, just light bleeding though, so I'm worried about it happening again if I do come off it.

I've had this contraception before years ago and my body has reacted differently to it this time. Before everything dried up, including my hair, nails and skin and I didn't bleed at all on it. Was on it for less less than a year though whereas I've been on it for 4 years now. I also couldn't orgasm before where this time it hasn't affected me at all that way. First time the hormones seemed stronger on my body than they do now.

First time I had it I was 19. Now I'm 35.

I'm just worried about the long term affects of this injection, including bone weakening and the weight gain! I've put on weight since I started, about 3 stone. Don't want to put on any more though.

Has anyone been on the depo for a long time and then come off it? How was it for you?

Hi Gypsy

I was on Depo for 12 years , my PMT was bad after trying all natural things my doctor suggested Depo and it worked.
I came off it due to the reasons you mentioned and I wanted my body to be as “natural” inside as possible, does that make sense!?!
I went through a moody period bad mood swings for 3 months, it’s been 4 years now and I haven’t put on weight. I think I did at first maybe the 3 months but I’m still a size 8.
I don’t regret coming off it at all.

I came off it after 12 years and didn’t have too many issues. I’ve switched to the rod and so far it seems to work well for me.

It’s can wreck your bones and teeth. I’ve lost weight but my weight tends to go up and down based on stress and my general mood.

I was on it for about 10 years and came off it a year ago. I have had no bleeding whatsoever before or since and I think that's because I'm actually well into menopause now.

It's definitely caused me vaginal dryness during the time I've been taking it but that seems to have reversed itself now, which is obviously great for business.

I had used the depot injection years ago. put on much weight and suffered very bad depression it was when I first started escorting  as my periods were an inconvenience I came off it quickly and it took 4 months for my periods to return afterwards the depression lifted  but I struggled to get the weight off  never again
