The reason they are idiots. I have them saved as something to remember, and when they call or text I play along for a bit. And then I start dropping stuff in that they have previously said. Confuses them.

A man came to see me and as far as we both knew it was his first visit. As soon as he came through my door I remembered him from a couple of years previously (different phone number obviously). He was quite distinctive in looks and even wore the same silly tie as before.

I boxed clever and said oh have we met before? Definitely not was his reply. Either I was not as memorable as I assumed or he was just winding me up. As soon as he undressed I was again reminded we'd met as he had a huge unforgettable scar on his belly.

No idea why they would pretend it's a first visit when it isn't but if it was in reverse I wonder would they feel slighted?  Doesn't really matter much really.

One used to do this for years in the flat I worked in-it was his 'thing' and the girl I was working with said some clients are just like that.
She'd known him for 3 years! I learnt to bite my lip, if I recognise someone I never bring it up unless they do.
