How do I break out of this loop?
« on: 22 December 2024, 11:10:46 pm »
I've been escorting for about three years now, and about 9 months full time. My problem is that I can only do outcalls, my housing situation doesn't allow me to take incalls whatsoever. Outcalls are too infrequent for me to rely on them. I do make a bit of content, but that only really makes enough to sustain my adultwork account in all the advertising and listing fees. I'm also very limited on space and I can't make content of a decent enough quality which really kills my motivation a lot of the time. I can't deal with mainstream work because of my mental health and I know that a minimum wage civvie job wouldn't help me either. I genuinely like escorting and it really suits my lifestyle.

I know that if I had more space and the ability to take incalls, I would be able to support myself financially and actually get somewhere. I'm still relying on things like benefits even though it feels like I've tried everything. My plan has been to save up enough to rent somewhere to live where I can also work - take incalls and make better content, maybe do camming etc. But it just feels impossible given how inconsistent outcalls are for me. I get a lot of interest for incalls and I know it would attract a lot more potential clients. Forgive me if this is a stupid question...but are there any kinds of business loan or something that I can look into to get myself off the ground? Most people assume I'm talking about starting a brothel and don't take me seriously. But surely this is no different than any other business plan where someone would borrow money to cover initial startup costs? Would a landlord even accept me in this situation?

If you would like a business loan, stay away from any ideas consumed from at sex work because they would throw it straight out. Can you use hotels for any content use? Like there’s girls on here say, you can make a lot from just content making although I feel like these girls can be full of themselves when it comes to content making and you need a plan if you go down that route

Have you considered doing in calls temporarily in hotels on a day-use basis to bring in some cash for a rent deposit and moving expenses? Depending on your location they can be a good low-risk way of doing incall work because the business hotels allow to book them and cancel them flexibly. I once offered in calls on a pre-booking basis with a deposit enough to cover the day-use, but you can also just book and show up and advertise your availability for that day in advance. There is also conventional hotel touring (picking a city and booking a hotel for a handful of nights etc) but that incurs a bigger financial outlay.

If that isn't an option I suppose you could try a conventional loan (and pick home renovations or something as your reason on the application) but these can have high APR % if your credit rating isn't good and risk keeping you trapped in a debt cycle.

Can you do incalls from hotels? I do not work from my home. You can also rent a room from someone here or AW and you can pay a day fee?

Where I live there doesn't seem to be any day-use rentals or anything like that, seems to be more of a thing in the bigger cities. I tried working from an airbnb but it was way too much of a gamble, I ended up losing money due to no-shows. Hotels are probably cheaper but that feels just as unreliable to be honest.

Additional question, even if I did go down the borrowing money route - how do I prove to a landlord that I can afford rent? I do have a business account but it looks very sporadic, especially with most of my income being cash anyway I have no reliable way to prove it. Like I said I also don't earn enough from outcalls alone anyway. I might be able to get a guarantor ... does that mean a landlord wont need as much documentation from me?

You could say you have recently become self employed so don’t have your tax return to show them but you can get a guarantor (think it needs to be someone who earns more than 35k per year in a stable job depending on how much your rent would be). If they ask to see bank statements and you don’t want to show them then you could lie and say you haven’t been working for a few years due to being a carer for someone. Having a guarantor will be enough for most letting agents to accept you as they will mainly be referencing that person instead of you. You would just need to make absolutely certain that you could always afford the rent or your friend/family member would have it come out of their bank account if you ever couldn’t pay it. X

Its handy if you are self employed to have an accountant because they can give you a reference for earnings, many charge by the month also so its not a big outlay to get started on. One way of avoiding too many checks is to find a private landlord and offer more than few months rent in advance. I did this once and paid 6 months upfront, and so the landlord didn't check any paperwork. Money talks! If you really want to take on a personal loan you could see if you could borrow enough to cover this.

Where are you based
I’ve been touring for years although I do have a base I can work from at home when im back
I would be happy to recommend some hotels if I can
You might have to travel though

Most agencies will ask for 6 months upfront or guarantor. If I were you I'd book a cheap hotel and stay there till night. Run an offer for this day to get people in. Get reviews, build regulars. It's a risk but that's the game!

Have you tried working from a parlour? I've been working in a parlour for about a month and a half. At first, I just had the parlour regulars, but then I got myself on AdultWork and now 7 out of 10 clients I see in a day are privates from AdultWork. I've been so busy I had to turn down clients. I'm doing so well, that I'm thinking I might as well go indy if most of my clients are private anyway. The parlour is great though because it's allowed me to get started, and a place for me to take incalls and build up regulars.

I can't do incalls from where I live. I tour all over the country. They key is book the hotels in advance but also go with the free cancellation option if u had to cancel. Advertise atlease a week before to secure some advance bookings. Alot of girls tour on here and do well. And its better to go to the bigger cities they tend to be busier. Hope that helps.
