A lot of my clients gave their real names but one I had this guy who told my agency his name was Frank Irving, who is a premium client (aka lots of bookings in history). When I saw him he asked why I looked so excited to see him, and I honestly told him "you are really good looking and I expected a 90y/o with the pseudonym you picked."

"hey baby what's your sign?"

"dollar."

I've had problems with similar names, I always ask for previous contact details to confirm who it is.

Does anyone get put off booking guys who have the same name as someone close to you?
Its nuts but I have a civvy work colleague with a fairly rare Scottish name. A guy tried to book with that name and I knocked him back. I doubt it was the same guy, yes I get that most guys use a false name but it put me right off.
I also have a reg with the same not common name as my brother. Its his real name I'm sure and I didn't know it when he originally booked. I can't say it when he phones or during the booking.
Is it just me??

I had a client who was initially "john" and subsequently, he booked under his 'real' name.  I queried as to which name he wants me to call him by. He suddenly gave me his real name because he wanted to "keep me to himself".  It didn't end well...   ::)

I have a load of regulars called Ian, Paul and Michael, I've had to add something to each of their numbers so that I know who I'm answering to.
An interesting thing that I've noticed is that a Steve is more likely to be a no show than a Steven/Stephen, in my experience anyway.
Don't think I've ever had a Jay turn up  ::)

 :) :) :)

Me too! The name Adam has connotations to me too, have met one who was/is fine but have 3 more in my phone list who have either messed me about or deserved blocking in some way.

Exactly the same here with the Adam's!!  Also Danny and James seem to be frequent timewaster/no shows.

I like to have a name to go by, don't care what it is but I do mostly remember it to be personable.

Most common 4 names for me are John, Steve, Paul & Andy/Andrew.

Adam's are usually trouble for me too.

I get a lot of guys that contact me through their personal email address (connected to their real name) but use a fake name to sign off with (99% of the time John) - I always thought it was pointless to to use a fake name if the mail address is their real name!

That's weird because I've found that too , not actually met one real Adam , all cancel or no shows how funny !

I also have tons of johns ( I do say if that's made up just say something else because everyone says that and I've got loads .,seriously she'd loads)
Tons of Steve's too

I find the main problem for me is a lot have 3 names ,
Fake aw
Fake name signed off
Then a lot send emails and don't realise it's got their work header , real name on
So v confusing so I just call quite a few nick names ( some get nicknames that I need a little piggy bank for)

I'm seeing a former client at the moment, it's a constant battle not to call him by his fake name.

I've got a couple like that and I just say "oh I'm used to it now and it suits you" so I just use the fake name and laugh .
Nobody has minded , plus some text so I always use the fake name back ...just in case x

Me too, and I didn't actually learn his real name until we'd been seeing each other for about 3 months as he just uses his initial when he signs off emails and messages, and his real name is the same initial. I still use his punting name in my head!
