But on the plus side, it's free advertising!

If C4 gets this right, and shows that we're generally all normal, non-trafficked, drug-free ladies going about our daily lives AND having a bit of norty paid fun to boot, AND that prostitution is LEGAL in the UK, we might get a lot more potential punters eyeing up our profiles and web sites (now might be a good time to get one, hint, hint!). Well considering on the channel 4 website it describes the programme as "unveiling the terrible reality of the British sex trade" I doubt they are going to be portraying us in a good light

I'll tell you what's going to happen: They're going to hire a bunch of attention seeking porn stars who will squirt at the thought of free marketing and the BBC is going to pay them and pass them as uni students/nurses/cashier at Tesco etc.. (tick your favourite). Then they're going to tell us a story about how much they love their job and how easy it is to combine their maths class with whoring etc... More or less like "My phone sex secrets". Prepare yourself to see a lot of "uni students" with tons of botox and fake DD's.

If it's like "my phone sex secrets" then prepare yourself for an upturn in business. I did quite well in phone chats after that programme.

But I agree with you about the type of ladies they'll have managed to hire for the programme. Although there might be one proper indie lady confident enough to be featured.

Right. So it's not about the British sex workers, it's about foreign sex workers in the UK. Which is a shame, because yet again the media focuses on the seedier side of the biz, with no other positive programme to redress the balance. Boo.

Wow what a misleading title although it will be good to highlight the poor girls being trafficked and on the other hand might turn some punters off those kinds of places and lean them towards indy girls?

Nobody wants to hear about happy hookers because it breaks the patriarchal myth about whores being victims. We ALL know there's NO WAY a lady would have sex in exchange for money and be perfectly ok with it. We need the "constant reminder" of the media regarding what "a dreadful thing" whoring is and what happens to the "bad girls" who walk the "wrong path on life".

Then of course there's the explotation (and blackmail of all sorts) of migrant illegal workers in the UK, from cleaners, to factory workers to farm workers but their stories don't sell. Only if they're sex workers.
