Can you really trust an escort in the real world (or online)
« on: 26 August 2009, 09:38:44 am »
Ok...so in the past week I have met 2 escorts already. Its not often that I do, why? I dont know guess I dont get out enough or run into the right ones. But I have noticed that after talking to both of them, they all seemed shady. This one girl acted so nice and friendly after our 'duo' together. She's like, "oh lets hangout for a drink sometime, oh I have a client that wants to do a duo with another guy, oh I make this much money per day, blah blah blah". Yet a week later she doesnt even get in contact with me nor did she follow thru on any of our plans, except the 1st night we met. I've called but nothing.

Another escort I knew spent practically our entire date blabbering about all the clients he meets, and the money he made while visiting. How the clients treated him out to dinner and shopping and rides on the town. Im thinking to myself, well for crying out loud do you have a life outside of this damn hotel room or do you just fuck and meet clients 24/7? And the bragging was making me jealous I'll admit.

Then, online...theres some escorts on a punter forum who are saying all sorts of advice and then when I disagree (with my personal experience to back it up) they get upset and make it seem like I'm stirring up trouble. One escort sent me a private message the other morning saying that since I disagreed with him, he lost respect for me as a person, and that I disrespected him on the forum!

So Im just like, you know what. I have to revert to how I did in the beginning. Minimal contact with other escorts because some people's business plan is different than mine and vice versa. Alot of escorts I've met have nothing better to talk about than about how much money they make or who they've met. I've found the .info section on saafe to be the most sound advice. Just being real, but that one page can be enough to get started and the rest is experience. I find that listening too much to other escorts (besides saafe) just irritates me more. They seem to have a way of making the recipent of their bragging somehow feel inferior, whether they realize it or not.

So no thankyou, I'll stick with my non-escort friends (except for you all here on saafe)  :)

LOL, I guess my spinoff of the original thread was a flop. I guess I just needed to vent with a similar title  :P

I've had a bad experience with another working lady. We were renting an apartment together and she got an outcall to a really good hotel and didnt have suitable clothes to wear to go into the hotel......(you can prob tell where this is going)

So I let her borrow an beautiful suit that had been made for me, that I'd just picked up that day...and top and shoes from Karen Millen which were a bloody fortune.

At the time her booking was due to finish, I was waiting for the 'check in' phone call and it never happened. I tried calling her an the phone kept being put down on me. I was so worried about her, about to go to the hotel when I finally got through to her. She gave me such a mouthful! Really went for it calling me everything under the sun.

IT was like a different person on the phone. I say IT because I wouldnt insult Women by allowing 'IT' to be called one! I was absolutely furious, firstly for someone speaking to me like that and secondly due to the clothes/shoes being gone. After the anger subsided, I felt let down and confused by the whole incident. I know I hadn't done anything to deserve such treatment -EVER! I'm just not like that. I look out for people around me a lot. She must have been a crazy bitch who kept it hidden well. Maybe had a dabble of coke or something an thought she was rocky.

Oh well, all's well that ends well. I still had the apartment we'd rented for a few days (paid jointly), the ad's in papers etc (also paid jointly) and most importantly the work phone. I did better than I thought I would those few days and it made me a whole lot wiser.

So there you go Joey, you're not the only one who wants to have a rant about other workers. I must add that the number of cosher ladies I've met far outweighs the nutters. I wont give up on people due to one messed up individual. That'd be giving up on life really wouldn't it.

Love Alex xxx

Well I consider myself to be a fair & caring individual until someone lets me down. I used to work with a girl & we became good friends went to BBQs at her house etc, you know the thing. Played together with her husband & stuff, I know, I know.

Anyway came the day she asked if she cud buy a TV & Theatre Surround Sound System thingy out of my mail order book. I hadn't ordered for such a long time I had to re-activate my account. Anyway it was only so much a week & that would be fine. Then I loaned her some cash to buy tyres for her car, if she didn't have the car she couldn't work, so no money for me. Well guess what. She left my place while I was on holiday owing me nearly ?1200. I had paid off the mail order because I can't stand debt, if I hadn't I could've given them her name & address & let them sort it. This all goes back to the end of 2007 & it's only now that she's offering to pay me back each month!!!

So I guess the answer to my question is, sadly no  :(

Misses Alex, you must be a very good friend indeed cause I wont let anyone borrow my clothes!

Kate...you must also be a very good friend. I had a friend who needed new tires too, and wanted to switch them off my rental car's tires as if they wouldnt notice a 2008 with bald tires? come on!

And I know this may sound silly too, but I didnt know they BBQ in Europe I thought that was just a U.S. thing!

Kate, sorry to hear about your misfortune. With 'Friends' like these, who needs enemies eh?

It made me wonder about peoples' consciences. You say the girl who 'used you' has recently been in touch and is offering to pay her debt. What I'm wondering is, Does that mean that her conscience takes a year and a half to catch up with her actions?  I suppose we should also look at the positive side here, at least she bloody has one! The girl who done a runner with my things has never been in touch again - not that I expected her to.

I'm a great believer in Karma. 'What goes around comes around' IMHO.
I know that when I've done something out of order (none of us are perfect) a similar thing has eventually happened to me so why would it be any different for others? I used to waste a lot of time getting really angry about things like what happened with that silly girl but what's the point? Really it's true what they say about growing wiser with age.

Joey I'm more cautious now, but as I said above - I'm also a bit wiser. I would still help somebody out who's in a fix but I'd trust my instinct totally now whereas before I ignored the niggling doubts I had about certain things/people.

Sorry to be all philosophical. It's been one of those days.

Lets not allow idiots and users to drag us down. We must endeavor to pick ourselves up, brush ourselves down and move onwards and upwards!  :)

Geeze- I have heard some stories about people taking advantage of people in this little world of ours, and I am always saddened by them. I have been mostly fortunate in term sof not having had anyone steal anything from me, but I have had the misfortune of having my character assassinated by someone who I had considered a dear friend (had known her for like 4 years). She had a complete misunderstanding about something I was involved in and then proceeded to character-assassinate me all over without coming to me first to clear it up. It was very hurtful.

I have also had a friend who threatened to out me a couple times in a veiled way- but she is not mentally stable (and apparently wasn't on meds), so I forgave her and just learned to steer clear of her.

But I also have to say that some of my dearest and closest friends are escorts! I prize those friendships deeply, because they are folks to whom I can speak with about anything at all with no judgment whatsoever. And having those friendships is important to me in terms of having a stress-outlet and being able to "talk shop".

So don't give up, Joey! And if you're in the US you may consider coming to the next Desiree Alliance conference (it will be in July next year). I meet sex workers from every possible corner of the industry at those conferences, and they are all fab people.

Not every escort is shady.  :)

I liken escorts to artists- they are sometimes inscrutable and do crazy things because they march to such a different drummer. It is the charm and the curse of being the kind of member of society that really isn't afraid to step outside of the "boundaries" we are expected to remain within.

Great post, Alex! :-* :-*

And you are spot-on! Our instincts are our best friend- especially in this industry.
