There's a minimum floor to standards and the sooner "the market" gets this in their head the better. It's my home and my body and I'm not letting any old detritus blow in off the street.

Of course there is, but it has nothing to do with what anybody charges or what anybody pays. Unless you actually think that people who charge/pay more are 'better', but in almost twenty years working I've seen no evidence of that whatsoever.

I don't think you can be absolute about this. I feel too low and it does open the door to too many lazy opportunists and hassle. The ones who did spend a lot relative to everyone else have been among my better clients. That's my experience.
