I tend not to read them as I got super paranoid I'm doing it all wrong the last time I read one.

I'm about a third of the way through this book.
Brooke seems to strip away the media hysteria about various sex 'Hot topics'
and uses a combination of common sense and scientific research. (Though I think more of the points should be source-attributed)
She used to prozzie and the book touches on escorting in some chapters
hence me including it in this thread.

I read Priceless by Charlie Daniels a few years back a compelling read which I thought was a good accurate portrayal of the sex industry a few decades ago - it is quite edgy and in some places shocking but a real story by a lady who has gone through it.

I read Priceless not long ago, its fantastic isn't, albeit very scary at times! I'm just reading the recently published Paying For It by Scarlett O'Kelly which is another great book in which she describes how and why she turned to escorting along with details an awful lot of ups and downs as she found her feet, it's something I'd recommend to newbies that's for sure!

Oh I've read priceless, I forgot about that one. Recently I've been in touch with Charlie and she is a good ear when you need one

"West End Girls" by Barbara Tate is an account of a working girl's maid... the story of the maid and the working girl, Mae, in London's Soho district back in the 1950's.

I can't recommend it highly enough.  It had me laughing, crying and learning from it.

As far as Brooke whats-her-face is concerned I can't stand the woman.  Whether her 'novel' from her blog is fictional or not I don't care for it.  She glamorised the industry and today there are young women thinking that being an escort is lovely and fun and good... if only I could tell these women what it's really like!

Won't go into specifics on another book I can't stand  here as it's off topic, but can anyone point me to a 'let's all dislike EL James' thread?

I'm fairly sure I've read Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl a long time ago but it didn't seem to stick in my mind... maybe worth another read now that I'm in the industry and hadn't even entertained the idea back when I read this book.

Would like to read Priceless... after having a look at the blurb for it I've decided it's going to be my next book purchase.  I buy so many books though that I'm not sure when I'll get around to that one lol!

The most interesting thing about Priceless I thought was that the violence comes mainly from people close to Charlie and not from the punters.  I read this book not long after I started and took a few good lessons away from it.

I have just finished reading Unhooked by Clare Gee, her first book hooked is really goo too! I really recommend them, they are realistic and you can relate to alot of the stuff!

Haven't read any of them should get them. How about DVD's besides Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which I have watched a million times?
