What kind of sex industry books or films are you looking for? Realistic/arty/bodice rippers/memoirs/ documentary etc etc Because there are tonnes and tonnes, I think prostitution must be the most over represented occupation in all of storytelling history.

If Documentaries are included in your interests there’s one on Ch4OD called ‘A very British brothel’.

It must be a couple of years since it was filmed from a Brothel in Sheffield.

Sex worker rights activist Laura Lee was in one episode (the first of two, I think) and she was brilliant.

I was unimpressed by the brothel owners. They came accross as a right pair of tools who were riddled with prejudice and misunderstandings of their roles.

This! And I never buy that whole Madame  ‘I’m like a mother to these girls’ shtick. Yea a muva what takes 50%...And the daughter ‘oh I wouldn’t do the job because I’m not strong enough’ eye roll.
