End of first full time week, exhausted!
« on: 22 April 2014, 09:37:55 pm »
I've just finished my first full week of working full time hours with my agency and I'm absolutely knackered, I didn't think it would be this hard! I'm on call 12 hours a day (my choice for my first week, definitely getting my mornings back as of now) and while I have 3 clients as my upper limit the ferrying myself between our incall apartments with limited time sometimes to get myself and the flat ready, then again in reverse afterwards so it's ready for the next girl before rushing off the next flat is draining! I think I need to come up with a plan on how to get organised so I'm not faffing or running about like a headless chicken, but I only had 2 clients yesterday and I was literally out of the house like midday till 7 at night and got nothing done to do with my home life  ??? ??? ???

Saying that, the wad of cash already is very soothing  ;D ;D

Aaaaah, new girl money.  ;D
Don't blow it, girl!
Seriously.
Stash a portion of what you make everyday. You'll feel better and not find yourself in a situation where you "need" to work when you really, really don't wanna.

Oh no definitely not blowing it! The first week of each month, even a slow one, will more than cover my living costs for the month (as I don't pay rent or bills). The next 3 weeks works of each month is straight into my savings, I have a big year ahead which is the goal I'm even doing this job towards haha!

You wont last too long like this, my advice is to go independent or work for the agency but from your own place so you will have time to rest between clients and do your home stuff xx

I've just changed my hours now I'm in the swing of things so they're condensed and I'm not going back and forth from home which has been much better! Haha just the thought of having to put all the mental space into going independent is enough to give me a nervous breakdown! Much prefer being given my bookings, having a safety net behind me and being able to clock off the rest of the time!  ;D ;D ;D

true, but if you dont take the bookings you cant suss the client out and some can be very nasty and of course you can refuse a booking with such client but how many times?

Independent is so easy, you will not gonna believe it and you get to keep all earnings and see whom you choose not whom the agency is sending.

It takes a place to work from (from startes can be an hotel or serviced flat), a phone, an aw profile and ads on other sites as well.

easy peasy

So far I'm only getting known regulars to the company and when it is a newbie the security procedure gets ramped up until he becomes known. Honestly just reading the threads about the effort put into filtering through TWs, wweird requests/negotiations, making sure you're not being targeting by a known physcho, all the overhead costs, lack of work etc it just breaks me out in a cold sweat to think about, not to mention I don't have the privacy to maintain a work phone or premises unfortunately  :( :( No for me personally this more than suits, I'd happily pay their commission as from having a cursory look round some indie prices even after that I'm still making pretty much the same rate for a lot less effort (for ME, personally). I do realise for a lot of people the nerves would kick in the other way round haha!
