BBW Health concerns?
« on: 26 April 2012, 03:36:23 am »
I am going to get lynched here but hear me out?

I know that the average size of female in the UK is a size 14.

I've noticed many BBWs on AW that are size 16, 18s, 20s etc.

I do not have a problem with how these women look, what I am curious about is that, aren't you worried about your health? Everyone knows that being overweight causes significant health complications. Some women will say, I eat healthy and exercise, but I am still skeptical that any woman who is healthy should be larger than a size 14 (see how average waist size of british female has increased greatly in the past 4 years).

Thoughts? Opinions? Just debate, I am not being nasty to anyone, I just want to know how they feel about their health, I am convinced that WGs have the high self-esteem required but this is not what I am getting at :)

Yeah drizzy BABE  think you should chill out BABE haha :)

Back on topic - in my personal experience, my weight is currently going down (from  a 16) but I don't want to shrink below a 12-14 because I love having boobs, hips and some belly!

I eat a very balanced an healthy diet - I would be a stick insect if I didn't drink alcohol!  But I do! LOL

Personally, healthiness is relative to how active you are - and how well you understand the meaning of "moderation" !

I know a few girls in the industry who suffer from PCOS (myself included).

PCOS makes weight loss quite difficult, though I did manage to drop over 20kg as my weight is a great concern for me, especially as I would like kids at some point and being overweight with PCOS makes conception difficult. I'm still 110kg (17st-ish) and despite cutting my calorie intake and upping my time working out I can't seem to get past that weight. My GP is going to be putting me on a course of meds used to help diabetics lose weight so hopefully I'll make progress.

I don't think WGs need to be any more concerned by their weight than their civvy street counterparts, but sometimes after a hard day, or a boring day I feel the chocolate cravings return, though that was true of before I was a WG too.

There is always the fact that BBWGs don't need to concern themselves with weight in order to get sex and the confidence boost from clients who find them attractive just as they are could make some girls want to keep their weight. I've even had one client leave me because I lost too much weight, at 130kg (20st) he was encouraging me to gain weight, which I think is wrong.

A girl I've worked with recently went from a size 14-16 to a size 10-12 and she is so unhappy, she hates her pics, she hates not being able to find nice clothes in her normal shops, she hates not being able to eat what and when she wants.

I would like to get down to 85kg (13-14st) and be a dress size 14-16 and I will be very happy indeed. I'll still be classed as obese by the BMI but you can't please everyone lol!

Yeah,  my mum is a size 16 but pretty active, however her diet is just so lame sometimes, she just cannot say no, and I know it's not good for her. Plus diabetes runs in my family which freaks me out.

Boobs and hips= all the way but why belly! LOL

Sweet Pleasure - I feel for you, have a friend who suffers with PCOS and it sounds awful - makes me realise how lucky I am as well.

Drizzy - because a woman was made to have a bit of a belly! Othwerwise we wouldn't give birth :) I don't hate on those who don't - and equally expect the same respect back!

That's not true, wide hips are needed for birth (+some strong drugs), belly is unnecessary and its better to be bottom-heavy than top-heavy for women (different types of fat cells and those found around the abdomen are worse for your health)

LOL! so what happens once these amazing hips give way for the immaculately pushed out child? The belly is flat? Despite having been stretched for 9 months for said birth?

I don't think anyone would argue that a high level of fat held around the midriff is healthy long term - however, people have their own reasons for things and often don't choose to be fat.

Oh to be 18 again!

The belly isn't flat, fair enough, I admit that.

I understand that; something like PCOS or thyroid levels does get in the way but for most people, it's an issue that they can control via nutrition and exercise. That is what I am talking about; being overweight is a problem in the developed countries such as the UK.

I understand that men and women come in all different shapes and size; but we also should be responsible and nurture the body with healthy food and engage in physical exercise (not just sex).

I am not trying to shove my thoughts down anyones throat, this is just me trying to engage in some discussion.

My parents are both overweight and it breaks my heart as it does cause serious health complications as you get older.

I am not trying to offend anyone; I know I already have, and to mimi, I say sorry. I am not trying to be judgemental, maybe it is coming across as that, I guess I have not expressed myself correctly. I would never put anyone in this forum down or personally attack anyone but I see this is become a sensitive topic so I would request the mods to lock this thread

I wish I was still 18, sadly not the case!

I was not trying to be patronising.
I was going to ask afterwards do some BBW stay that particular or gain weight for business reasons.
Never mind.

Understood, was just curious as to whether people had clients that actively wanted them to gain more weight etc (as was discussed above) or suggest that they would not see the lady if she was of a smaller size,

And again I am sorry for any offence caused.

Let's not place value judgement on other people's bodies. overweight doesn't always mean unhealthy.  And also unhealthy doesn't inherently mean bad. it's all about informed choices that an individual is happy with.

Also often there's a balance of emotional/physical health. I know fat women..fat activists who have said to me that they made a choice to be emotionally healthy above all else.

Also, I agree with what D.3 said on this:

I was not trying to be patronising.

Never mind.
I'm sure some women are perhaps less motivated to lose weight if this is their niche and they do quite well out of it, but not an overarching factor in a decision of whether or not to lose/gain weight. By the same token a size 8 escort would be motivated to stay that size as that is what she markets herself as and what works for her.

I appreciate that you were not intentionally setting out to sound patronising, however I perceived it this way as the theme seemed to be one of 'don't you know being fat is unhealthy', rather than being one related to escorting.

Off topic bickering posts removed.

Drizzyfan, if anything you are going to post has to be preceded by 'I'm going to get lynched for this but...' or similar, that's a pretty good indicator that it's going to offend somebody and might be worth a rethink. This forum is not for general discussion about health issues unless they are strictly in the context of sex work, and if I had seen your thread starter last night before people had started responding I would have removed it and requested that you repost whatever you wanted to know in a relevant way.

If this topic is going to remain open, please keep discussion appropriate and adult - it's basically another 'would changing your appearance in X way worry you in case you lost clients' thread, after all. It's not as if we haven't had them before. And making crass assumptions that all overweight people really want to lose weight (like assuming all smokers want to stop smoking) is really nobody's business and has no place here.

I wouldn't alter my appearance just because of something a client said, however I would alter my size/shape/hair colour if I thought it was a good idea, and something I'd be more comfortable with. Over the years I've been asked if I know any larger, smaller, bigger boobed, fully shaven, unshaven ladies because I didn't fit their requirements. Also had one or two say they didn't want to see me when I was a size 14 because I was "too big" or "fat".

Can't please everyone, but you can please yourself.

I do notice I tend to appeal to a wider range being a size 10, but I've never forced myself onto a diet to obtain more work - I've slimmed down for my own reasons.

There are also guys out there who will say ooo you are a size 6, 8, 10 whatever and you are too skinny for me.

It works both ways and as Strawberry says you can not please everyone.  Every one likes something different which makes it alot more interesting other wise we would all look like society tells us we should and be a brigade of barbies now where is the fun in that!
