I was requested a Hotel Booking late last night. Large Hotel, city centre.
Turned it down as it would have been 1am when I walked through reception.
Not sure if I would have fooled anyone with my laptop-case and business dress at that hour? - Especially if I was walking out at 2/3am?
I don't know how late is TOO late to be honest? I suppose it depends how busy the Hotel is..
I DO find it quite stressful at the best of times, even though with my age and *demeanour* I THINK I carry off the rushed businesswoman look quite well..Phone jammed to my ear/busy meetings/no time to stop and say Hello sorry..( Think Deborah Meaden on Speed..
)..
There is one very nice airport Hotel I am often called to where the staff are ultra nice and polite and immediately offer assistance as you walk through the door..20 minutes later when I am STILL searching for the correct quadrangle that the Clients' room is actually located ( 3 miles away from the room numbers on either side of it..
) ..my polite refusal of any help seems somewhat foolish and transparant!.. :
I always ask the Client for full instructions but have absolutely no sense of direction anyway.
The number of times I have mistaken a hotel wardrobe for the bathroom - but that's another story!
